Is skyward sword playable with a bluetooth controller nowadays, or do you still have to use the annoying remote thing?
Skyward Sword

"annoying remote thing" Are you referring to the controller that was responsible for it selling over 101 million units?
Yes, you still need to use real physical Wii Remotes with Motion Plus. Skyward Sword has the player using 13 axis and 12 buttons (including the dpad) at once, which are combined into highly complex motions that to the player is totally natural thanks to the motion controls. Emulating that on a controller would be a niiiightmaare! - Oh, before I forget... *waves her magic moderator wand* Moved to controllers! ![]() AMD Threadripper Pro 5975WX PBO+200 | Asrock WRX80 Creator | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 FE | 64GB DDR4-3600 Octo-Channel | Windows 11 23H1 | (details)
MacBook Pro 14in | M1 Max (32 GPU Cores) | 64GB LPDDR5 6400 | macOS 12
Nobody has any plans on implementing emulated motion plus.
However, with USB Bluetooth Passthrough in the latest development build, even the cheap knock off Wiimotes work flawlessly, so you can buy a very cheap wiimote with Motion plus integrated and use that.
Alright, that sucks.. going to play some other game isntead I guess
I just wanted to make sure that you still need one of those annoying remotes before i go out and buy one.

(In addition to those two things, you also need a Nunchuk and a sensor bar, and a Bluetooth adapter if you don't already have one.) * I'm not sure if it's third-party – third-party extension controllers aren't as problematic as third-party Wii Remotes when it comes to Dolphin, but I'd still recommend a first-party one if possible. 08-26-2018, 09:05 AM

You can use what you want to play this game (Keyboard or gamepad). I don't know why they don't mention it on their wiki compatibility (also last time I checked I can't edit it).
You need to use Dolphin 3.0 build 410 (unofficial build by J. Peterson). The only thing is that for the new user it's really hard to understand all the options to setup your profile. Most peoples don't want to take the time for this. That's the reason why most people say it's not working or you see video on youtube that's working not really good. For more information you can check all my comments here (removed). But once you understand all the option, it's almost perfect. |
