Going underwater in Mount Kazai makes the entire screen go black, save for the minimap. Wireframe mode doesn't work in DX9. Can't use OpenGL because Dolphin insists I don't have all the extensions required, even though I do.

Wheee...
Dolphin 64-bit r4444
Windows 7 x64
AMD X2 7750
Radeon x1800 XT PE (with latest legacy drivers)

How can you stand that game with the sound being the way it is?

Easy! I don't have speakers at the moment.

Oh, and I should also perhaps mention that the software renderer crashes before it even loads the 'Sega' screen.

The software render plugin is for debugging only, but it should work with the Skies of Arcadia hack (I think. The sound in this game is very buggy (no way to fix it until the developers can improve the sound emulation).

Yeah, I know about the buggy sound. Couldn't care less about that, doesn't impede game progression.

And yes, I know the software renderer is for debug purposes only. But I had hoped I could play through the dungeon with it, albeit slowly, but no such luck. It either freezes immediately before even drawing the first frame, or it freezes as the Sega logo fades in. Either way, it doesn't last three seconds.

the software graphics plugin is very sensitive to issues which can be caused by using dual core mode.
so, try running without dual core mode enabled Smile

Well, I was going to test that out, but I made the mistake of updating the SVN first. Now I go to compile the package and the software renderer fails to compile. *headdesk*

Yeah, I probably should have tried that before doing anything else. My apologies!

Software renderer fails underwater, as well. Guess I'm stuck until either the effect is emulated, DX9 wireframe mode is implemented, the OGL extension detection issue is fixed, or I get a new card.
