Real XFB is required for certain games though, since some of their graphical elements won't display correctly. The movies in PSO I&II need it the last time I checked.

Shonumi: There's nothing outright saying that Virtual XFB can't support those with fixes though. If it does, there wouldn't be a need for RealXFB, right? I mean, maybe i'm dreaming a bit, but it'd be nice.
drhycodan: I think it is working, my config wasn't grabbing it by default though. RealXFB is working. 03-06-2014, 09:26 AM
@JMC47 - Why ask me though? Go poke neobrain or degasus :p
When I was trying to get a detailed explanation of Real vs. Virtual XFB, I gathered they were two different approaches to XFB emulation (roughly comparable to EFB2TEX vs. EFB2RAM). It could very well be that current XFB emulation sucks and an improved model could fix it so that only Virtual is needed. Or one approach could continue to do things the other can't. Again, you're not asking the right person. 03-07-2014, 12:20 PM
Describe what's broken about it please; I tested games that required RealXFB for videos in 4.0-1076(or is it 1077; I don't feel like looking) and it was fine. If it started not working in some games, find out what revision caused it and make an issue report so I can accept it and yell at the coders.
It's not like I fully doubt you; it's very possible some games are broken and others aren't; but I have to work from the games I have. |
