Significantly worse performance using GPU on Gentoo

Hey guys,

I originally tried out dolphin using the integrated graphics on my Intel 4790K, and was nearly getting 60fps on most games on low settings. I wanted to run things on higher settings so I purchased a GTX 750 Ti. But now I'm getting about 5fps, much worse needless to say. I should mention that I am using the open source linux driver (nouveau), but people say that it should work just fine. I am also using the latest version of dolphin provided by the Gentoo linux package manager (version 5.0).

What could I be messing up? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

"It should work just fine" for nouveau is mostly that there are no rendering issues. For performance, you still need the binary NVIDIA driver.

Those people should be punched into the balls.

Install the proprietary driver. Like right now. And also compile Dolphin yourself, do not use the 5.0 RC

If you are getting exactly 5 fps, check the Framelimit setting (if there is a setting with that name in the version you have). It should be set to Auto. If you have the newest version of Dolphin (I am not sure how the Dolphin packages are numbered – the real 5.0 hasn't been released yet), there won't be a setting called Framelimit and the problem I'm talking about doesn't exist.
