I should write "pixel fillrate" instead of Ctrl-C "Texture fillrate" from Nvidia site Tongue

Quote:They are outperformed by radeon 6670 which is even cheaper then gt 640 ( radeon is $60-70 while gt 640 is $80-90 )

Only the DDR3 editions are that cheap, and they're a lot slower. The GDDR5 editions are $80-90 just like the GT 640.

Quote:Wrong. A higher pixel fillrate will give you better performance with AA.

Still wrong. It depends on the type of AA. Pixel fillrate and video memory bandwidth determine performance with MSAA. As you scale up the pixel fillrate becomes bottlenecked by video memory bandwidth. With post-processing methods and SSAA shader throughput becomes a factor as well.

The GT 620 is meant to be a media center card just like the GT 520. It has certain features (I can't be bothered to look them up right now, I know it has a better video decoding pipeline) aimed at the HTPC market that the other cards don't have, it's small/low profile, can be passively cooled, draws all of its power from the bus, it's cheap, and it fast enough for any video related task. But yeah in terms of 3D rendering performance it doesn't even come close to other cards in its price bracket, but it's not supposed to. It is probably the best card out their for an HTPC right now though so I still think it was a good idea for nvidia to make it since it targets a niche market that didn't used to get very much attention.

For the same price around $60 you can get ati radeon 6670 which is a lot better.
For little more ( $80 ) you can get 6770 which is also a lot better then 6670.

Nvidia is good company,but not in the low end segment. Ati is much better below $100 price
Alright, since i still have the receipt for the gt 620, im gonna switch it out for the radeon 6670. is it worth the extra cash for the gddr5, or is ddr3 good enough?

Thanks, that seemed to fix the problem.

6670 GDDR5 -> 1080p
6670 DDR3 -> 720p
Huge difference . GDDR5 is much faster

Go for GDDR5 version . You'll have good performance in Dolphin and PC game
Though I recommend Nvidia GTX 650 , it blow way 6670 GDDR5 . Nvidia GTX 650 just cost a few bucks over 6670 GDDR5
