So i just bought a new graphics card thinking that it would be better than intel integrated graphics, but I honestly see no difference now that its installed. Im running super mario sunshine at 10-17fps in 1024x768 resolution. is this good for my specs? or is something not right?Sad

Pls give us more information. Which Dolphin revision do you use? What are your PC specs?

Try to use something more recent than r7423. Dolphin 3.0 at least. And post your settings

That's still a horrible GPU. Barely better than the Intel HD 3000.
Set your IR to x1, otherwise purchase a better GPU.

I agree with Garteal, unfortunately you made a bad decision with that gpu,but live and learn, right ?
For the same price around $60 you can get ati radeon 6670 which is a lot better.
For little more ( $80 ) you can get 6770 which is also a lot better then 6670.

Nvidia is good company, but not in the low end segment. Ati is much better below $100 price

If he like Nvidia GPU , he should get GT 630 GDDR5 for 55$ or GT 640 DDR3 for 85$ (not a good choice btw) or GT 650 GDDR5 for 95$
GT 620 DDR3 is crap

GT 620 DDR3 is crap

Gt 630 and GT 640 are crap.
They are outperformed by radeon 6670 which is even cheaper then gt 640 ( radeon is $60-70 while gt 640 is $80-90 )
Who would in their right mind buy weaker card for more money ?
There is no such thing as GT 650...there is GTX 650 and it's cheapest decent card nvidia offers, anything cheaper is crap.
But,amd is still better,6770 is about same pefomance as gtx 650 yet still cheaper $85 vs $95
But,if you are fan of nvidia, then yes,you can buy gtx 650.
Buying anything cheaper from nvidia is simply stupid.
If you cant afford gtx 650 or radeon 6770 simply buy radeon 6670. It's the cheapest decent card currently offered Smile
If you cant even afford 6670 then dont buy anything !

The OP didn't mention about PC gaming performance ...

http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-minimum-specs-video-card
Memory Bandwidth :
6770 GDDR5 (90$) : 76.8 GB/sec

6670 DDR3 (65$ - Newegg.com ) : 28.8GB/sec
6670 GDDR5 (90$) : 64GB/sec

GT 640 GDDR5 (not launch yet) = GTX 650 GDDR5 (95$) : 80GB/sec
GT 640 DDR3 = GT 630 DDR3 = 28.5GB/sec

GT 630 GDRR5 (55$) : 51.2GB/sec
GT 620 DDR3 (50$) : 14.4GB/sec

1xIR or 1.5xIR (480p or higher) : GT 620
2xIR or 2.5x IR (720p or higher) : 6670 DDR3 , GT 630 DDR3,
3xIR (1080p or higher) : GT 630 GDDR5 (barely) , 6670 GDDR5
4xIR (2560x2112) : GT 640 GDDR5 , GTX 650 GDDR5 , 6770 GDDR5

Higher Texture Fill Rate -> Better Anti-aliasing
Those graphic cards that list above will bottleneck your PC if you play graphic intensive wii games + high IR
The best GPU for Dolphin should be something equivalent to GTX 660 or better

Wrong. A higher pixel fillrate will give you better performance with AA.
Texture fillrate is how fast a GPU can perform texture mapping.
