Ok here is the deal: I have 2 PC's, one that is a desktop that I use for schoolwork. The other is a lenovo all in one that was given to me when I went to college, that I just mess around on. I want to run dolphin with the fastest FPS possible (my dream is to play 4 player split screen mario kart double dash, but idk if this is possible with my hardware).

Here are the specs for the two systems. I know NOTHING about computer hardware so help is much appreciated! I ALSO have a amd phenom x4 9800GT XLR8 performance edition graphics card laying around that I could put into either computer, could y'all tell me if this would be an upgrade or even worse? THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME! https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

The first one has the better CPU. It blows the second out of the water; the laptop won't even compete (well it will put up a fight, but it's not even close to the desktop). The laptop does have a better GPU, which means you can raise your Internal Resolution and AA (basically graphical enhancements). The desktop should be good for 2x IR in most games, and 3x IR in others. The laptop will be able to go higher (dunno how much though) and add AA without slowing down.

The desktop is perfect for what you want (out of all the choices you have). I would add a dedicated GPU though, if you want to play in higher resolutions with better image quality.

You mean the 9800GT? Not really. I don't think it'd be worth it, not in Dolphin anyway.

Any new-ish card should work fine in Dolphin
