The first one has the better CPU. It blows the second out of the water; the laptop won't even compete (well it will put up a fight, but it's not even close to the desktop). The laptop does have a better GPU, which means you can raise your Internal Resolution and AA (basically graphical enhancements). The desktop should be good for 2x IR in most games, and 3x IR in others. The laptop will be able to go higher (dunno how much though) and add AA without slowing down.
The desktop is perfect for what you want (out of all the choices you have). I would add a dedicated GPU though, if you want to play in higher resolutions with better image quality.
