I plan on trying to teach my self java AND C++, but I was wondering what you guys think I should learn FIRST. For instance you may say "learn java first it will make C++ easier to learn Wink"
Also fell free to mention another language but I would prefer one of these, thanks for any replies I may get Big Grin

I know these languages is not mentioned here but in my case VB.Net was easier for me to learn then any other language.
But when I could code in that the jump from VB.Net to C# wasn't that much of a big deal.

In your case I would go as Daco suggested.

Why do you want to learn c++?
What are you going to do with it?

I would suggest C#, unless you plan to make things -crossplatform-.

Java just sucks.

Java doesn't suck completely, you can do some pretty cool stuff (JPCSP is an example of this), but C is really much better, then you go to C++ later, like Daco said up there.

You can make anything in any programming language.
Java is just too slow for most of the stuff you want to make.

Again, I'd recommend C# unless you REALLY want your program to be crossplatform.
Just putting this here: I want to be a Game Developer. Don't worry about the title.

Btw add another poll option: "Neither, suggestion below!" Tongue

I don't think I can do that Tongue, but from the sounds of it I'll learn C or C# first Wink
Thanks for all of the replies Big Grin

Now that I think of it I have seen a lot of people say "don't learn C then C++, you will unlearn a lot"
What do you guys think about this ^^?

I got a lot of time (homeschooled Big Grin), but I'll still need that luck of yours XD
