First I want to thank the Dolphin Team for this fantastic emulator, it's amazing to see a seventh generation console being emulated, and so well! Personally, I shy away from the Wii aspect because I never really enjoyed the Wii, I'm more for the GameCube games, because I LOVE GameCube. Anyway, I've only recently started using Dolphin (recently being about 3 months) and I've had a few problems, but all of them I've managed to fix. I had a bit of trouble understanding the whole revision thing (I actually replaced the version 2.0 files with the revisions at one point, thinking that was how to update).
But now version 3.0 is out, which is fantastic, but at the same time, confusing to me. Looking at the amount of time between the launch of 2.0 and the launch of 3.0, I can see many, MANY, revisions, 1000+ at least. So my question/s is/are, why would you get version 3.0, if the day after it's released, there's already another revision out? Or is there something I'm missing? I can already see 10+ revisions published after the release of version 3.0. Are the official releases and revisions different, in terms of bug fixes etc.? Is version 3.0 more stable than the revisions? Or are the revisions actually added onto the official releases, as in, all revisions after 3.0 are actually 3.0 with the bugfixes in that particular release?
Sorry if I'm asking so many questions, but I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around this release business. I still remember being frustrated about getting 2.0 to work with games, only to realize that I was 1 year's worth of updates behind everyone else. I'm probably just being a giant noob, but I would really appreciate any help that I can get on this.
Thanks in advance,
