Shooter Setup Question

Hey guys. I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I'm unable to find anything clear on it.

I'm trying to play Metroid right now with a 360 controller. My problem with the shooters is that when I try to aim, the crosshairs always fall back to a neutral point (i.e. if I aim up, the controls force it back to the center of the screen). Is there a way for me to change the settings to allow the pointer to stay where I put it?

Lol I think that was for mouse!

Huh? I'm not using a mouse. I look up, and the gun starts lowering back to a neutral point.

Yes I know.

It seemed that you've configured joystick as a mouse. It makes the pointer go back to center.

EDIT: Sorry I can't really help much. I'm using PS3 controller and had no problem, but I know that pointer goes back to center was for mouse.
