that Windows 8 won't suck after all if you customize Metro to your own liking:

Yeah it looks nice and clean doesn't it.

Just right click and uninstall all the junk that's unnecessary and violá.

This idea have grown inside of me and in practice it works like a charm.
Definitely something I easily could live with. Just start the computer and take my emulator pick.

Well I'm convinced now that I can do what ever I want with Metro.
What do you need to be convinced?

Looks cool if you want a no-fuss emulation gaming setup, especially if you hooked it up to a TV.

Yeah it's so sweet I don't know where to start describing it.
Windows 8 Release Preview is amazing when you have customized and tweaked it.

But I have to admit that before I started to love Windows 8 I have hated it since the day I saw this:

But when I read that you could uninstall most of the tiles and apps and configure it the way you wanted it became interesting.

Overall it took me 20 minutes to learn the basics of Windows 8 and now I don't want to look back, truly a perfect OS for my emulation purposes.

All you did was right-click and delete some 'apps' from the menu and placed your own shortcuts there.
The customizing/tweaking possibilities is too limited.

You can't change the icons. (you're forced to use the small ugly icons while metro 'apps' can use their big icons)
You can't change the tile size. (The only way you can simulate smaller tiles is by zooming out, which doesn't help because you can't select individual tiles due to it expecting you to create a group)
You can't change the menu background. (you can only select some predetermined backgrounds and change their colors within a limit)

The default explorer has the ribbon enabled. How in the world did they think adding the ribbon to Windows was a good idea? It's a waste of space...

Besides that, the OS feels tailored for a touchscreen. (phones, tablets, etc)
There are a lot of useless, obsolete software and features for a desktop user.

Microsoft still hasn't learned from their mistakes, and is following their usual pattern.
Windows XP - good
Windows Vista - terrible
Windows Seven - good
Windows 8 - terrible

Well I think it's sexy, I've been playing around with the OS most of the day except when I have been here and it's actually quite a joyful experience.
I had an idea and the final result looked just as I had imagined.

I haven't played any major games yet but for the most part generally Windows 8 is faster with everything else that concerns other tasks but all the emulators work great so far.

As for the ribbon it's automatically hided, I kinda like that too.

I don't have a clue what have happened to me but I'm over optimistic about Windows 8.
The final product is gonna be great.
