The devs were not wrong to eliminate it, and they do have enough knowledge. It´s just that crappy drivers don´t really help much. In this case, it's not that mobile GPUs implement the API incorrectly, it's just that they're missing an extension that is necessary for emulating that feature properly.
IIRC some that implemented the extension implemented it wrong, on Mali I believe.
Quote:They were wrong to eliminate it, or they did not have enough knowledge to implement it better. Nope, it's because the active graphics devs don't want to maintain broken garbage. Whether or not users want it is irrelevant. Open source babeyyyy. Fortunately, you're more than welcome to use this fork that maintains it. Just keep it in this thread and nobody will have a problem. 10-19-2018, 06:27 AM

I will be sincere and direct, because I am a pragmatic person and I love meritocracy. For 7 years I have always read the same repetitive stuff in every open thread, where we talk about hardware and software compatibility. Buggy drivers, do not work on Mobile, as on PC, as on MAC, as on any hardware of the face of this earth. It's fair to say that OEMs have to make a move, trying to improve their code, but that this does not have to be an excuse, not to have an elbow, as did the ancient programmers and developers. They did not think the x driver was compatible with the z extension. Strict lines of code from morning to night, hack of all kinds, alternative solutions even on holidays and weekends. And they were in a cellar (or in a small room), it was not the dozens of people, who today work in common on a project, because yesterday there was not yet the computer/informatic culture of today. And the programmer / developer silently and silently, created software gems. Today I have the impression that, even if you have the means available, you let yourself go. In this discussion, a boy, The Boy, his part of the team of those old programmers and developers, because he thinks like those old programmers and developers and does not stay in a forum just to repeat the same phrases to himself, or to give himself airs with the others. And this is a miracle for me. I am sure, this same thought, even some of you have it, that they quietly spend their nights behind a computer and for the simple joy and fun of overcoming the obstacles of software/hardware and making themselves and others happy. It can be improved And finally, the day will come when a broken or missing extension will no longer break anyone's boxes.
Wow this custom build of yours is pretty incredible, games that would not work or had wrong colours work fine now. It might be a bunch of hacks but it does make my games work(exynos 9810). Thanks mate!

will this build overwrite the default dolphin files? can I have it installed alongside the main branch build without issues?

tested it on MKWii and FIFA 15, on my Mi 6 (SD835) :
- On MKWii the top left rectangle isn't fixed and on my device, both on open gl and vulkan, all the characters and other elements of the circuit were black, as well as all the lootboxes were glitched... despite all that, no performance change... - On FIFA 15, your IR pointer implementation made it finally possible to play carreer mode... no graphics glitches at all, 40+ fps in game (cant compare with main branch as I couldn't get in game)... so, overall I think I'm gonna wait for Zackhow's IR pointer implementation to be merged to the main branch instead of keeping this version installed... |
