I've been playing the Wii version of Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, and I can't get the shake function to work. In 4.0.2, all I had to do was bind shake x, y and z of the wiimote and nunchuk to the Square button, and then hold it down. Now, in 5.0, I've tried a bunch of different combinations of buttons and I have no idea what's wrong. I initially just downgraded to 4.0.2, but later levels made the game lag to an unplayable level (turning it down to minimum settings did nothing), so I had to go back to 5.0. I've also searched numerous old threads about this issue and the few that had answers didn't work for me. Does anyone know how to fix this?

apparently you need to flick up and down instead of really shake (at least in the video's that i've seen) try only binding the Z-axi of the shake controls (aparently they also need to be alternating, so if wimote goes up, the numchuck should go down and vice versa) so alternating between your two bound buttons should do the trick. I do not own the game myself though so I am unable to check it.

Also please make sure to download and use the latest development version from the top of the download page.
Check my profile for up to date specs.

I tried setting one button to shake wiimote up + shake nunchuk down and another button to shake nunchuk up + shake wiimote down. That didn't work. I tried only using the z axis of shake, on both one button and two alternating buttons, neither worked. I downloaded the latest development version and tried all of that again, it was no better. I can do it if I time it perfectly, but I have no idea what the "perfect" timing is or how to do it consistently. Plus, in 4.0.2 I could literally just hold down one button and both the wiimote and nunchuk would shake repeatedly. What happened to the shake function between then and 5.0?

We changed the strength to work with other games.

You'll wanna bring it up here and try this Pull Request - https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/6222

Do you remember the old default shake setting for 4.0.2?

I figured a few things out from testing:

1. The wiimote actually works perfectly fine. I can hold down the button and it auto-repeats like in the last stable version (4.0.2). It's the nunchuk that's having the problem.

2. Changing the shake intensity in the game's .ini and/or binding buttons to ShakeHard/ShakeSoft didn't change anything.

3. I can sometimes emulate the effect by holding down the wiimote shake button and mashing the nunchuk shake button, so long as the wiimote's shake threshold is 0 and the nunchuk's is around 50. Raising it to 100 makes it fail and lowering it to 0 makes it fail. No idea why this is, but it kinda works.
