I've noticed a lot of games which feature dynamic character shadows that when you walk near or under a ceiling that's low, your shadow is not only casted on the floor, but on the ceiling as well.  A number of games are affected by this including The Last Story, Fragile Dreams, Epic Mickey, and many more I can't remember right now.  This problem has existsed for as long as Dolphin's been around.  Is this a known issue yet?

Isn't that a bug with the games themselves, or does it not happen on real hardware? I've noticed it in a game ported from GC to PC, so I assumed it was a problem with the dynamic shadows and not a problem with the port.

No the shadows are not casted on the ceilings on real hardware.

You'd need to get screenshots of the situations, and then fifologs to be examined.

A lot of older shadowing techniques would have this exact issue; in fact, it happens in Starfox Assault and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 for sure.

It's pretty noticable in the last story. You can see it right away when you take control of dagran at the very beginning by turning around to get the treasure chest right behind you. There's also no way anyone can miss this error later on in the game when you get to tight corridors.
