Setting up my Wiimote and Xbox 360 Controller

I'm having a bit of difficulty with setting up my current layout. I just got Dolphin all set up and wanted to play all my Gamecube games with my gamecube/xbox360 controller and my Wii games with my Wiimote. I know its possible, but I'm having difficulties. Help!

For the 360 controller, I only have wireless controllers. I do have a plug and charge wire, but I was told this doesn't send information, it only receives power, so therefore it doesn't work. Do I need to buy a wired controller / receiver, or will bluetooth work, etc? Or would it be easier to get a gamecube adapter of some sort?

For the wiimote, I'm generally just confused. It looks like we need a sensor bar, but we don't need the real wii one? How do I set this up? I prefer not to have to constantly change batteries if possible, yet I don't want to make my own because chances are I don't have the parts. And I want a nice layout on my desk with something that looks like a real sensor bar, not some candles. xD Additionally, I'm unsure of what cheap bluetooth adapter to get.

Can someone point me out to the products I need to buy off of Amazon.com? Thanks!

For your Bluetooth adapter, any "class 1" adapter should work fine. You can take a risk and go for a cheap one from China or you can go to a respected store near you and buy from a respected brand. I did the latter and ended up with excellent Wiimote compatibility (I can connect multiple and sit far away, which can vary for cheaper, lower quality dongles).

For your GC controllers/Xbox controllers: you can get the Mayflash 3-in-1 Magic Joybox for GC controllers, 1st gen Xbox controllers, and PS2 controllers (I use this). There is also a new adapter made by Mayflash which has 2 GC ports, but it may have some issues with proper analog trigger controls so I would avoid it. To connect your Xbox 360 wireless controllers you should just be able to use Bluetooth and set it up as a controller. Look up how to do that elsewhere online. You can then map controls for Dolphin under GCPad settings (this is where you will go to map GC controllers as well).

For the sensor bar, there are currently five options:
1. Turn on you Wii and use the sensor bar plugged into your Wii as the sensor bar for your computer (really stupid idea IMO that wastes energy an money)
2. Buy a wireless sensor bar that requires batteries (I have one if these)
3. Mod a wireless or original Wii sensor bar to work with your USB port (this idea sounds tedious, and you said you wouldn't like it)
4. Use candles (stupid looking)
5. Search around Amazon for a USB powered sensor bar which most likely doesn't exist.

I'm not going to go find all of the products for you. I have given you all of the information you should check against for your purchase, now you should go look for the products.

"class 1" being a cheap one? Or is there a specific standard called class 1, etc.? I assumed you just meant any old cheap online one. Which of these three is best?
1. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00345SLGS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A2P0ZH43OVSIE
2. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007EMUDFY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A1HPBDJJIXKXS7
3. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0089RL0G4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A2THDIM3AQNPUD

I was thinking #2 for price, but wanted an opinion, as well as I wanted to be sure that would work.

As far as the sensor, I am unsure of which of the below I should get. Do you think any of these are better than the rest, etc?:
1. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008JU4O1Y/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=ALM27M18VEIRS
2. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004MOT2VS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=AAN5GO04HMO72
3. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004C4XNI6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_7?ie=UTF8&smid=A38LDS9MI1UEXQ
4. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004WB8P00/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?ie=UTF8&smid=ATJ1HHEILSBYQ

I was thinking #2 maybe for the above since it claims it does AA batteries, but I wanted to double check.

Class 1 means a good one. You can get cheap class 2 BT dongles from Hong Kong but I don't like to do that. I got a really nice one for $10 at Frys.
Any wireless sensor bar will do.

Alright. Would any of these be better (best?):

Axxer, you just lost a lot of my respect with that misinformation.

All of mayflash's adapters have major problems. The only one with full compatibility is Ulao's Blissbox, which unlike mayflash's:

Works with the vibration
Has fully functional analogue sticks
Can be relied on to not be broken when you buy it
Actually works

However, it is more pricey, so if you can't afford it, get the mayflash adapter, just don't expect to be impressed.

Secondly, wireless XBox controllers use a proprietary ~2.4GHz connection, which, as it's proprietary, isn't the same as bluetooth. This means that you do need to get a receiver.

As Microsoft don't sell these on their own any more, you'll most likely get a fake one if you buy one on its own, so don't assume that a more expensive one is genuine. Either buy a really cheap one, and expect to have to buy another, or get one packaged with a controller, as these are more likely to be genuine.

My 3-in1 works perfectly. I don't entirely know what you mean. As long as you install the drivers it works.

I assumed he was informed about the Xbox controller, so my bad.

There are non-fixable problems with both adapters in the mayflash thread, which for some reason I pay a lot of attention to, even though I have no use for one.

That's only the newer one. The older one has full support for the GC controller, including vibration, on Windows. All features other than vibration are available on all OS's.
