Ok. I have completed a setup on my home theatre PC where every game I own (NES, SNES, GC, Wii, GBA, PC, N64, etc.) runs directly from shortcuts on Steam Big Picture Mode. I used the ICE application to set the games up. Everything is working very well. The only thing I'm trying to figure out is this:
I use Dolphin to play my Wii and Gamecube games. I use 4 Xbox360 for Windows controllers to emulate the Wii Pro Classic Controller. Being my PC runs all of my games seamlessly from XBMC/Steam Big Picture, is there a way to set up Dolphin or maybe install it separately with separate config files, so that the controllers are working properly whether I start a Wii game or a Gamecube game?
The thing is that the keyboard and mouse gets put away now, and I'm trying to run the games without having to change the config settings if I choose between GC and Wii games. Some games work fine by leaving both of the controller settings turned on (as in having a Wii Classic Controller emulated as well as enabling the emulated GC controller in the GC Pad section). But like in Smash Brothers Brawl, if I leave both controller options on, player one's controller controls players 1 and 2 in game because they are both enabled.
Can I run any command line parameters or anything in Dolphin to enable or disable GC and Wii controller settings? The only option I can think to do is use a separate GC emulator so the settings don't conflict, but Dolphin is the only one that works, and also it works so well for everything I'd rather not use anything else.
Thanks.
EDIT: Figured it out. Sorry for my stupidity. I didn't realize that I could install Dolphin to a separate directory and add "portable.txt" into the directory to keep the user data and config files separate. Now I have 2 different Dolphin program folders. One called upon for the Wii games and one for the Gamecube games. Everything is working just the way I want it now.
NOTE!!!!!!! --- When I tried to use the latest dev build 4.0-2171, my Xbox 360 controller WOULD NOT WORK in games. It read just fine on the config profile screens. All of the buttons were lighting red and the sticks were moving. But as soon as I tried to run anything with it no matter what it was, it would not detect any input within the game and I couldn't get past the loading and title screens. I erased it all and reinstalled the last STABLE Dolphin 4.02 build (x64) and set it up exactly the same and it works flawlessly.
P.S. : You guys who have worked on this emulator did a terrific job! Playing my Wii and GC games on my PC is really remarkable now! I can run every game I own with minimal stutter or lag. I may get a hiccup for the first second or two of starting a game or level sometimes but other than that it's awesome! Thanks!
