I am new to emulating the wii and I would like to get some recommendations with the sensor bars. Could some people post of some different wii sensors that works well with the wiimotes on Dolphin and we can make a poll for people to rate the best? I can't make the poll until I get some recommendations as I am new to this.
I tried just looking on amazon but they were all the ones that plug into the wii.
Any help would be appreciated!

Well it depends on your preference. If you want wireless and range adjustable. http://www.amazon.com/Official-Nintendo-Wii-Wireless-Sensor-Extended/dp/B002E1MLR8

If you want light weight and wireless, duracell as DefenderX said. Or you can get usb powered versions with no messing with batteries. There is no one perfect bar just depends on what you want. Some of us use candles.

Thank you for the great advice! I would be fine with a USB powered one as my PC is right by my TV. What would you recommend for that?
And DefenderX, would this be the sensorbar you are referring to?

The link that ulao had, i looked into it and most reviews said that 4 batteries would last you 6 hours... that encourages me even more to get a uninterrupted USB solution... any ideas? I want to ask, am I required to own a wii to use this software (for legality purposes)?

yes the battery powered bar does not like to run 24/7 I get about 1-2 months out of it. Depends on how often you play, plus is has an auto off feature to help the batteries. There are no official usb bars just the one you find on ebay or amazon. Any usb bar is going to act the same so there is not one in particular.

You just pretty much cut off %50 of this board helping you. Most will read that and read no further. Its not so much the fact you need the console, rather you need to rip your own games, not steel them off the net. Now you are being honest so that will give you clout but we dont support any sort of piracy here. No you dont need the console to have the emulator, you need to own the game to play the game, get it?

That is unfortunate about losing help. I am fine buying the games because I plan to get a Wii U (when it gets easier to get one in the spring) which is backwards compatible with the Wii games I will have, that and our local library has a huge selection of games. Just until then there are some I want to play and if it costs me $20 for a bar to play those now then that is a worthy investment. Do the games need to be ripped or can we play straight from the disk?
If this is the Duracell one you were referring to it may be hard to come by:

I only found this USB powered one, have any of you tried this? There aren't many reviews but it is is overall positive. I like the idea of no interruptions in play and I have spare USB ports.

As I said you are honest so you may still get help.

From what I know the data on the GC.wii is written backwards ( I think ) so yes you need to rip it. The usb bars really are all the same, you just will have to buy one and try for yourself. Where ever you buy, do so with a warranty and return if you dont like it.

Yeah, GC/Wii discs read in the opposite direction (the disc rotates backward).
