Is this possible? I noticed this is possible with emulated/hybrid configurations. But I have a real wii mote.

I'd use the speaker on the wii mote, but it looks like my bluetooth adapter can't handle it. (it sounds garbled and cuts off). So I'd like to just have the wii mote sounds go to my headphones instead. (wii mote appears to work fine otherwise and motion plus feature works with Skyword Sword, so speaker data is the only thing not working right)

Any way of doing this? If not I'd suggest it as a new feature. Also perhaps I could resolve the speaker not working right as one possible option. What are the common issues that cause wii mote speaker to not work right? Most likely though it's just my Bluetooth adapter being on the cheap side and not getting along with that.

I am using Window 7 x64 by the way. My wii mote is the original model with the motion plus add-on. I'm using the Toshiba bluetooth stack as well.

Sounds like a -TR Wiimote. Update your Windows version, IIRC this is a MS bug. Windows 8 and 10 are able to play it well Wink

Uhm...Nope. It's an older wii mote. Here's what it looks like in Toshiba's Bluetooth Settings after adding it:

Unless -TR wii motes show up under the same name. But I was under the impression they aren't. This Wii mote does NOT have built-in motion plus. I'm using the motion plus addon as it does not have it on it's own. (does not have motion plus branding on the wii-mote either).

This is most likely not a -TR unit. Also upgrading to Windows 10 is not an option for me. I've personally boycotted ever using Win10 because of Microsoft's sleezy Windows Update practices involving their push to force users to Win10 via sneaky updates in Windows Update. This ontop of the many privacy concerns I have with their telemetry stuff they added in Win10. So yeah, that's never going to happen and I'd rather not argue about it. Tongue

I've always been slow to update. I've used some form of Windows XP up till 2010/2011 (I forget exactly when I finally updated to Win7). I have a feeling I'll be on Win7 longer then I was on Win XP and if I do update it may not even be to another Microsoft OS. I may jump ship to Linux. But maybe I'll think about Windows 10 or Windows 11 should that come if they get their telemetry crap sorted out.

Sorry, I've missunderstoud "My wii mote is the original model with the motion plus add-on." Yeah, updating doesn't help here.

In theory, it should be possible to parse the wiimote command stream in real wiimote mode, but this is not implemented. Patches are always welcome Wink

By the way, does Wii system menu or the game in question have options to disable speaker data? Games like Twilight Princess send certain sound effects like hookshot, bow&arrow, spinner noises to wii mote speaker. But I would think there was a way to disable it proper in Wii's system settings so games like that don't use it and I don't end up with missing sound effects. I may look into that instead.

EDIT: Just checked. No there isn't. Sad

EDIT2: Nevermind. Found the wii mote speaker volume settings in the Home Menu pause screen. (hitting home button while ingame). If I go to remote settings and set speaker volume to zero, game sounds that normally go to wiimote now get routed to main game audio. I have no desire to use wiimote speaker anyway even if it worked, so this is good I guess. Big Grin

You can disable Wiimote speaker sounds in the menu that appears when you press the Home button.

On the subject of Windows 10's telemetry, that's in older versions, too. It's been there since XP, and the details sent haven't increased much in each Windows version. Whenever a new version's been released, an update has been pushed to the older versions increasing their telemetry amounts to match. If you're really concerned about the telemetry, you shouldn't be using 7, 8 or 8.1 either, as they have exactly as much as 10 right now. Either way, it's all (supposedly) super-anonymised and harmless, and can only be used to improve MS software, e.g. the percentage of things you searched for and the autocomplete picked correctly after only one keypress (but not which key or thing you selected). The scary stuff like keyloggers etc. were just in the open beta, and it did say they were there in big letters all over the place.

Sorry to derail the thread, but when you're concerned about telemetry, lots of people keep saying Windows 7 is fine and 10 is not, when they're both the same (assuming you turn off targeted ads and sending typing prediction data off in the menu that appears when you first install 10).

Anyway, about turning off wiimote speakers, there's no option in the Wii system menu (and if there was it'd probably be exposed in Dolphin's config menu). However, some, while not all, games have an option to not use the Wiimote speakers.
Apparently I was wrong about Wiimote speaker volume settings.

Yeah the telemetry stuff isn't high on my list. I'm thinking after July when the free Win10 promotion ends, Microsoft will finally end their free win10 upgrade thing and will stop their stupid Windows Update crap. Maybe then I'll think about it. Tongue

It's mainly their update policies that really ticks me off about that OS right now. That and being able to disable automatic updates. If I can't disable automatic updates in Win10, forget about it. I have no interest in not being able to screen updates before installing them. Tongue

There's a "Enable Speaker Data" option in Dolphin's Controller Settings. Disable it and done, Wiimote Speaker Sound gone regardless of what you've set in game settings/Wii Menu...

That I'm aware of. I still have to go to wii mote settings in the home menu pause menu to disable it proper. Otherwise sounds that normally get sent to wiimote never get heard. Once I turn volume all the way down in that menu, THEN sounds that normally go to wiimote will go to main audio instead. Seems to be on a pergame basis, because I did this in Skyword Sword but had to do it again in Twilight Princess. (though it does retain those settings, so I don't have to keep doing it. Big Grin )
