Exclamation
So, Dolphin 5.0 is out. I finally got out to updating it, and looked at the changelog. I saw that there was Full ES_Launch Support, and below that there was a video of someone with the default Wii Home screen emulated. I didn't know you could do that, so I immediately searched it and installed. Now, I got the main menu and the Miiverse on, but whenever I clicked Miiverse it just reloaded the main menu. So I was playing around in the Wii settings (in the main menu, not Dolphin) to delete it so I could reinstall Miiverse and see if that helped. I found the format option, and from my limited experience this wipes your stuff, which it warned me about onscreen anyways. So I did it, and then I went to install Miiverse again. Now when I relaunched Dolphin, I kept getting the error in the title along with another but saying IPL.LNG. So I uninstalled and reinstalled dolphin, and it did the same thing. I don't know what I did, but whenever I do something it gives me like 20 of each of those errors. I even went and deleted the whole dolphin folder in my program files and deleted my whole temp folder. Nothing was in appdata, so I didn't clear that. What is happening, and how can I fix it? I'm on Dolphin 5.0, as stated above. Thanks in advance if I didn't completely break Dolphin for my computer and someone can fix it XD! Oh, and I searched this already and the thing that fixed everyone else's was to replace SYSCONF with a backup from online - that didn't work for me.

Miiverse is for the Wii U, not the Wii. You can't run it in Dolphin.

Anyway, to clear everything, go to the Dolphin Emulator folder in Documents. Deleting the whole Wii NAND should be enough, which is the Wii folder, but you can delete absolutely everything if that's what you want. Please note that all of your save files will be deleted when you do this.

Close Dolphin, delete only User\Wii\shared2\sys\SYSCONF and reopen Dolphin. A new SYSCONF file will be automatically generated and should be enough to fix your issue...

That's definitely worth trying. Just delete the SYSCONF file at first, then do what I said if that doesn't work.

Did the first one, opened Dolphin, went through the errors, and reopened it to see if it generated a new one - didn't work. Second one didn't either. I've already tried completely uninstalling, deleting my Dolphin folder after that, and reinstalling, so I don't think that would do anything anyways. Only thing I can see that would cause the problem is the formatting in the Wii menu, because I didn't mean Miiverse - I thought that was the name of the Mii channel on the original Wii. So how would formatting the SD in the Wii menu break everything?

Know what - just thought of something. I'll download a dev version from the site, and see if that works.

EDIT: Didn't work. Just downloaded the latest version and it had the same errors. Although once I got through those, it already had my ROMs loaded up - I used to have the portable.txt or whatever in there so it would all be in the folder, but I didn't do that on 5.0. Would that change anything? Could the formatting do something to another place that Dolphin stores data? Because if that was the case, then the Wii formatted that area and Dolphin can't access it or rewrite it. I could try putting that back in after redownloading and seeing if it worked, because it wouldn't search my system for existing data - is it portable.txt? I think so. . . Clarify that and I'll try it so we know if that's it.

EDIT EDIT: https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/controlling-global-user-directory/ says it's portable.txt. Gonna try that.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: IT WORKED!!!!! YAS!!!!! So there is somewhere else that Dolphin is storing data, and the Wii Menu formatted that and screwed everything up. Anyone know where that is and how I can 'un-format' it? Or would I just delete it?

Afterthought: If noone knows I can just do it in a portable.txt one until a dev or some wizard comes and fixes everything for me.

Just to be sure, you know that Dolphin stores its user settings in My Documents => Dolphin Emulator, right? When I said to delete the SYSCONF, I was referring to the one stored on the folder from My Documents, not the Sys folder next to Dolphin.exe...

Nope, did not know that. I'll try that in the morning; I'm sure that will fix it. Thanks!
