Hello, I'm just trying to configure controllers to work across multiple player counts in the right order.

At the moment if I have 1 controller plugged in it is SDL0 in the controller setup.
If I keep that controller plugged in and restart dolphin it is now SDL2 and the other.
If I plug in 4 controllers it changes again.

Is there anyway to match up the settings to xinput Js0 through to Js3 properly?

Atm it's making Js0 SDL2 with 3 controller, with 2 controllers it works fine as Js0=sdl0 and js1=sdl1.

Does any of this make sense to anyone?

It also makes it confusing when the lights on the controllers aren’t matching up to the player number and me and family have to figure out which controller is now player 1-4. (I plugged them in 1 by 1 with no disconnects to make sure the lights are correct, I'm aware they just cycle if you keep unplugging and plugging them in)

I'm using dolphin 4.0 4575 and Lubuntu 14.04
with 4 wired xbox controllers, using separate USB headers.

Anyway.. if anyone could shed some light on what's going on that would be great.
Thank you for your time.

EDIT: Nevermind I just realized this problem is consistent across a few emulators. So it's an unrelated problem to dolphin, I guess I'll have to figure it out for myself. =(
Why does SDL change when new controllers are plugged in? O.o
I can't seem to figure out why it chooses a a certain order.
OMG, it's just the usb port I put them in, except back to front, highest header to lowest.
Thank's for your time everyone. =P

It's not so much an issue with SDL as it's an issue with the underlying kernel, Linux lists devices in the order they report, that causes the order to be inconsistent.
