So I was playing SMG with DX11 and HLL, everything is fine except some parts lag and some sounds are really loud, but it looks good and with vsync on it generally plays smooth.
I decided to try out Opengl and it runs faster even with LLE audio, but there's an annoying screen tearing and it won't go away if I turn on vsync. The fps counter says 60 most of the time. What's going on?

CPU: AMD Radeon R9 290
GPU: Intel i7 4770

and here are the settings if that helps

Common thing with Radeon drivers. There are some versions of the driver without this bug, and there are also some versions of the driver that don't experience this bug with very specific GPU configuration, but you're pretty much better off getting a new pair of eyes that are resilient to tearing.

Oh, well, might be a Dolphin bug as well, then. I just know that it's a known bug with the Radeon drivers no matter the application.

I read somewhere that disabling Desktop Composition in Win7's Compatibility settings fix that in AMD, but haven't tried with nVidia since I didn't experienced that issue until now (and I'm not running Win7 anyway)...

You apparently need to restart the game after toggling vsync in OpenGL for it to take effect.

Probably has something to do with the desktop environment and the compositor being used. I don't get anything like that on Linux using 331.67 (which is the latest for us penguin folk). Fwiw using KDE.

I disabled Desktop Composition and it didn't fix the tearing. I also tried restarting but apparently the restart button doesn't restart wii games, only gamecube games. I'm using 4.0-1569, what revision are you using?

Well, restarting did cause vsync to turn on, but didn't fix the screen tearing, so whatever.
