Screen Flickering in Launcher

So, as it says, I have been having an issue with the newer versions of Dolphin. I want to run Paper Mario, but Dolphin 5.0 crashes during the opening cutscene, but if I use anything newer it works great, although regardless of the game I'm playing, or regardless of whether or not im even playing a game, there is a screen flicker.

To reiterate more concisely, before even choosing an iso to run, the emulator is causing screen flickering.

I made sure my drivers were up to date, I used older versions that were still newer than 5.0 and still had the issue. I changed the driver settings to increased performance, I uninstalled drivers and reinstalled them, among many other things.

The only thing I can see is that when I start up Dolphin, my control center says that the utilization percentage for im intel processor jumps between 1% and 100%, and obviously I had to read that between the screen going black every few seconds. The instant I end dolphin it ceases.

I don't know much about computers so I hope the information I have given is sufficient.

Thank you all in advance for your help.

First are you running super paper mario for wii or Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for gamecube. Have you change any graphic settings in dolphin. Have you try changing backend. I assume you try using newer drivers. Which version of windows are you using(windows 7,8, 10). Have you verify the iso in the dolphin menu. to do this right click the game in the main page in the verify tab will be the option. Have you try a clean dolphin installation with a file call portable.txt in the main folder. This will cause dolphin to use it own folder and could help if there is a issue with the previous setting or file in the normal document folder.

I'm running Thousand Year Door, but to reiterate, that's not the problem I'm working on. I'm sorry that I was not more explicit in my explanation of my issue.

The issue I have is the actual launcher for dolphin. I launch Dolphin.exe and the launcher, before I run any games at all, causes my screen flickering.

Thanks for the advice, but again, I'm sorry I didn't explain myself properly the first time.

Sorry didn't read the detail of the launcher. Does it still occur without the launcher. It hard to help you though since we don't know what the program you launching dolphin with is. Even still for the most part you better off if possible asking the creator of the launcher or there forums\etc. Have you try using the Development build with the launcher as maybe they work better then the 5.0 stable. Even if if you don't use a launcher it still recommend to use the current beta\Development as the 5.0 stable is around 4 year old now and is lacking a lot of fixes and feature that in the newer builds.
