Saving between revisions

Is there a way to transfer your save files between code revisions? Right now i have been copying the title/00010000 folder over to the new version. In Super Mario Galaxy, my save appears in the game and loads perfectly fine, but saving no longer works. What i mean is whenever I save in the game, exit out of dolphin, and restart, it doesnt actually save the progress, even though the game says it does. Is this a problem with SVN revisions or am I copying my save files incorrectly? Thanks!
