Hello, been playing Skyward sword on dolphin recently.
But now I've encountered a really annoying problem.
I did the whole third area from the start to end, with time temple and everything, and I've saved at every statue along the way. However, when I wanted to play later that day, the save was still a really old one, like it didn't save or something. Happened once before but didn't gave much thought about it. So I just basically lost a lot of progress just like that.
What's up, anyone else had such problems, is it even skyward sword related?

P.S.
Posted this in skyward sword thread as well, but this seems like emulator related?

Thanks

Where is your Dolphin folder? It might be an issue with folder read/write permissions (though why it would work sometimes and not others is questionable).

It may be best to use in-game saving and save states. Be sure to use the latest revision of Dolphin or 3.5; earlier save state functionality was suspect at best, but the situation has improved a lot. Before you quit playing, make sure the yellow on-screen display message confirms writing the save, save more than once if need be, then make a save state or two for insurance. Since this is a reoccurring issue for you, don't just rely on one method; use both to record game progress.

Thanks for the reply.
I have it on downloads actually, which is retarded but I always forget to move it. Can I just move it now without any problems?
I've been using ingame saves all the time, never really cared for save states as they seemed buggy. Gonna try those now.
I'm playing the game with an xbox controller so I'm using a patched dolphin version that emulates motion plus. It's v.3.0-863 if I'm not mistaken.
Also, the yellow text saying the game saved never appears when saving normally. It appears for save states and also for gamecube paper mario I'm playing right now (don't have any other wii games to test this on). But while the yellow text doesn't appear with normal saves, it still saves normally at times, which is weird.

Can I change versions of dolphin while I keep all the save progress?
Do you suggest any good stable dolphin versions that support wii motion plus?

Thank you.

You can.

You can. Just copy your Wii folder and your MCs.

Real Motion Plus or emulated Motion Plus?
Real Motion Plus will work fine with any recent builds (and Dolphin 3.5 of course).
Emulated Motion Plus is no more supported on the forum. You'll need "special" builds. You'll find them here http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-emulated-motion-plus-unofficial?highlight=emulated+motion+plus

Yeah I meant emulated motion plus since I'm using xbox controller. And yes, I've been using the latest build from the link you gave me as well.

Thanks.
