So I had a bug where I couldn't create a save file for a game in a memory card. As a result of not being able to save in the memory card I made a save state after my first run at the game (twilight princess GC). after I made the save state I left for a day and when I returned I didn't know how to open my save state. I upgraded from Dolphin 4.0 to 4.02 and now can create saves in a memory card but is there a way for me to take the save state file (GZ2E01.s01 is the file name) and boot it up in my new dolphin and continue where I left off? I cannot attach the file to this thread because it is apparently not an allowed file type. Thanks for any help!

Soupi77, you don't have to move any files. Read this: https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/cont...directory/

I deleted my old dolphin and only kept the file for a SAVE STATE and not a full save. It is a file type that dolphin does not recognize as a full save. I want to use that SAVE STATE in the new version of dolphin. I have the ISO, the new version of dolphin and the single save state file from my past version of dolphin. 12-28-2013, 06:24 PM
Go to the emulation menu, load state, and load state as. Alternatively put the save state back where you found it, then start the game and rpess F1.

That's because the emulator changes over time and savestates are volatile. If the emulator changes too much, a savestate will no longer work on the newer build. This is expected behavior and I'm shocked no one mentioned this earlier.
