So I've known about Dolphin for a while, but it didn't run well on my old mac. Got a new mac recently, and now I can actually upscale games, use AA, etc. However, I'm having save issues. First game I tried was Resident Evil, tried saving, said it couldn't write the save file. So what should I do? Obviously I can't just plug in my GC memory card, so would I have to upload info from it? I'd rather not go through that hassle, took me long enough to get the game on here. Any way I can just make a new save file? Also, yes, I am running as admin and all permissions are set to read and write.

did you change the memory card filename or is it still the default?

I believe the saves on mac are stored in "Library/Application Support/Dolphin/GC/", but I could be wrong.

These errors usually write permission related verify that you have rw permissions on this folder.

you can always try the standard os x application troubleshooting of repairing disk permissions (from disk utility) and testing in a *new* user account

Nope, your right in where it's at, but what do you mean by "change the name"? Currently, in the GC folder, there is a file called "SRAM.raw". Dolphin thinks its the memory card, and it attempts to save to it. Should I change the name of that? Also, I set all of its permissions to read and write.

Ah, so then its probably a problem with dolphin. Then perhaps I can just use an older version? I'll try it and tell you the results.

EDIT: Yeah, tried 584, got the same issue. I'd try an older version, but those aren't working for mac. Also, that message in the screencap above is the exact same message I get.

I also got same problem with 3.0-584 but 3.0-578 is fine, you can copy your gc memory card file from 578 to 586 if you want.

Welp, went into the archive and downloaded the 4th most recent mac version, 458, and what do you know, saving worked! On the downside, hotkeys aren't working, but I can still quit out of the game with command q. Hopefully a new version is released that addresses this problem.
