Ok way too many posts at once here guys. I thought I had this all figure out but maybe I didnt do the homework right... I was able to cancel the MOBO but looks like the CPU is in process. I know about the K, I plan to set the turbo ratio, not the base ratio. The 3820 is locked so I wont be able to change the base 36x multi I know. But that is not how this chip works.

I think I can switch out the cpu with amazon, but not in the budget to go > 300 on it. So sandy - e is no good with dolphin?

I find ivy is to heat sensitive for OC. So I decided to go with sandy. That being said what chip of the sandy flavor is the best bang for the buck ( if not the 3820 )?

3930k a bit to high costwise
3820 locked but nice price
2700k nice price but only 6 MB cache ( overclocks well )

Would the 3820 no be the best choice for dolphin performance?

Note that an i5 3570k/i7 3770k @ 4.5GHz will beat i5 2500k/i7 2600k @ 4.8GHz
There is no best bang for the buck Sandy CPU from now on

So the ivy really is that much better then the sandy. Thus; unless I can over clock to a significant amount on sandy just go with ivy.

Then the 3570k it is. And could go with the ASUS P8Z77-V. I just see no advantage for the 3770k for dolphin.

With extreme knowledge in overclocking + high-end water cooling -> you can overclock i5 2500k/i7 2600k/2700k @ 5.0GHz but i don't recommend that high voltage

If i remember correctly , GT 240 is slower than 9800GT and it's not GTX series
That GPU will bottleneck the whole system when it comes to PC gaming & Dolphin (GPU intensive game : Xenoblade , SMG , TLS ...)
You should save more bucks on the CPU side and upgrade the GPU to GTX 650 or higher later
Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 is best bang for buck mobo (for overclocking)

Please specify. Because I could care less about PC gaming. This system is for emulation only.

Sorry nvidia 280 not 240.
