I recently got my hands on a Samsung Galaxy S9+ with SD845, and when I try to play games on it, I get slowdown in various places, and I'm always told that games need specific settings to get them to run their best, but I'm never told what specifically those settings are.

The games I'm specifically looking to emulate are:

The Legend of Zelda - The Wind Waker (includes randomized versions)
The Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess
Star Fox Adventures
Star Fox Assault
Spyro - A Hero's Tail
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2 - Echoes

If anyone can help me find the best settings, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Video Backend: Vulkan-API
Native Resolution 1x (640x528)
Aspect Ratio 16:9 or ( Streatch to Window ) cause phone is Wide
Everything else Default

Dolphin-Emu Latest version makes everything possbile with Vulkan-API
Phones with SD845 newest Adreno 630 can play almost anything..
You can even load hi-resolution textures if you phone has 6GB or 8GB ram.

I don't know if you phone have working vulkan drivers you can try

Even when you're using the best available phone, you're still emulating on a phone. Some games are going to have slowdown.

The strange thing is, I tried the Dolphin core in RetroArch Android, and in Wind Waker, the slowdown I noticed in the hot areas of Dragon Roost Cavern is no longer there.

I'm assuming the Dolphin core uses an older version of Dolphin?

EDIT: Disregard, most of the slowdown was just the audio crackling because of Audio Stretching turned on. There's still some slowdown, but not as much.

I'm guessing the RetroArch code doesn't have the default game-specific settings set up properly, leading to problems such as getting a crash when trying to use the Pictobox. I'm not sure if that's because they're using an older version or because they're just handling that in a different way that isn't working yet.

I'll probably use my settings most of the time and then if I have to use the Pictobox (though it'll only be for maybe one sidequest), then I'll turn off what makes the Pictobox crash.

Everything else, I have Vulkan turned on, and it seems Twilight Princess runs fullspeed in the Ordona Province, Star Fox Adventures runs fullspeed in the intro part with Krystal, but slows down massively upon landing on the planet with Fox, Star Fox Assault so far runs fullspeed in the first two missions, Metroid Prime has some slowdown as well, though not to the extent of Star Fox Adventures (though I haven't reached Tallon IV yet), Spyro: A Hero's Tail runs fullspeed from what I've tested, and all in all, everything works a lot better than I thought it would.

Just go for Latest Dolphin-Emu Android Build -> Master

Libretro Retroarch implement there own code sometimes on emulators..
Also sometimes prefer older out date versions which can provide [ stability to emulators = no crash ] but trigger other things like slowdowns, bugs, etc.
Some games could be speed up cause the effects are broken.

RetroArch is really cool Box for Android but I never use it for demand Emulators like Dolphin.

Oh, I make sure to use the standalone Dolphin. I just need to make sure that I save space by only putting games that run fullspeed or close to it on my phone until more games can run fullspeed on it (if future builds don't just make games slower due to accuracy enhancements)
