Does run the ryzen 7 chips all games in fullspeed? the benchmarks are interesting, but even with them I can't know how good tp, galaxy 1/2 etc run with that cpu.
Ryzen 1700X Stock vs Dolphin Benchmark.

It probably will.
Ryzen seems to only be matching single core performance of chips 2-3 years ago, but intel chips 2-3 years ago ran games full speed just fine. If you want a Ryzen system, playing Dolphin on it shouldn't be an issue. 03-05-2017, 03:55 AM
oh okay, that's nice. My i3 3220 can not run every game on fullspeed so I'm little worried about that, okay I can't buy me a new pc in the next months anyway, so idk if I will buy amd or intel. I though you need to overclock 3 year old intel chips? or are the dolphin optimizations that good?
I need to oc my i5 3570k to get useable framerates in some of the heavier games like The Last Story and Xenoblade but stock speeds are perfectly fine for most games.
According tot he Dolphin bench Ryzen is quicker then my i5 running at 3.8-4.2ghz I can't tell the real numbers ans different applications give me different numbers aka windows says its running between 4.18 and 4.22ghz while cpuz says 3.8ghz so I don't know which to beleive right now. I still ret roughly 10mins on the dolphin bench while Ryzen gets closer to 7mins 03-05-2017, 06:10 AM
Ryzen really have some problems...

I just realized - Dolphin's performance relative to other software is kind of the opposite between Haswell and Ryzen.
Haswell had 5-10% faster IPC than Ivy Bridge overall, but was ~30% faster per-GHz in Dolphin. Ryzen has 0-1% faster IPC than Broadwell-E overall, but is ~30% slower per-GHz in Dolphin. Quick, somebody try the Dolphin benchmark with Ryzen on Windows 7! (Linux kernel 4.9.10 might also work)

Anybody want me to test any games out? What games are most demanding for Dolphin? I did Metroid Prime Trilogy. There was some stuttering in some places (like opening doors) but not much. Mostly ran smooth at 60fps with my cpu overclocked to 3.7 GHz. I was going to try Skyward Sword but I don't have a sensor bar although I do somehow have a Wiimote lol. Also, my RAM is running at 1067 MHz right now despite being 2400 MHz sticks. I don't believe ASUS supports my RAM yet (or will? I don't know). It is EVGA which I guess isn't very popular. I'm actually considering bringing the ASUS board back and switching it for a Gigabyte next week. It is really upsetting me that my RAM is running so low. You can run away if you don't want to fight the 2nd boss , it's quite nasty (lv.90 monster right off the bat ) then go to the city and receive permission to enter that castle It will take 1 hour or so Laptop: Mini PC :: |
