Why does my Bluetooth adapter stop working with the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack after 30 days?
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ81021V0000R01.htm It's because my dongle isn't a Toshiba adapter. Never mind. It's not much to buy one, only about £10-£15, like the CN-523 by sitecom. I'm hoping that the issue with Dolphin not recognising RVL-CNT-01-TR will be solved within 30 days or thereabouts. The Toshiba bluetooth stack/software seems kind of old, a bit 90's compared to the Windows 7 one that is used with the Trust/Atheros dongle I bought. I don't understand why the Toshiba software works because I can connect my RVL-CNT-01-TR to Windows no problem with the Windows and Atheros bluetooth stack/software, it seems to be Dolphin not recognising it from the bluetooth stack/software. Hopefully it will be fixed soon so people won't have to purchase another bluetooth dongle or consider using pirate stack/software (which is wrong) as a workaround after the 30 day evaluation period. I didn't know there was a kill list. Sounds bad. I'm surprised a name like n1gg3r`5 is allowed, sounds racist to me unless it's on Boondocks. I'm surprised you got banned, I thought all emulators were somewhat illegal.
I think uninstalling the Toshiba stack, deleting the Toshiba program files folder, running registry settings clean-up like CCleaner and reinstalling the bluetooth stack should get round the 30 day evaluation problem. I forgot to write in my post about the workaround that I had to change the user permissions for the tosrfusb.inf file in Windows to allow me to save it after editing. 02-14-2012, 03:39 AM

@sidetrack I got the CN-523 dongle, works with Toshiba Stack like a charm, it's definitely the way to go, as Toshiba does not sell the stack to Non-Toshiba hardware anymore.
Ok thanks dannzen & CJ Jackson. I bought this bluetooth dingle because it's capable if v3.0 bluetooth which I think others like the CN-523 isn't. Although I think I've found another work around for this issue and that's to instead rename the hardware device ID in regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\controlset001\Enum\USB\(current hardware ID)... click on hardware ID, click on modify, rename to one already existing in the .inf file, instead of changing anything in the Toshiba install files. I'll try that it if there's no Dolphin fix in 29 days, but generally I don't like editing registry settings, it's a downwards spiral usually ending in tears and reinstalling the OS
I meant dongle not dingle lol 02-14-2012, 10:35 AM
Hello
I have the same problem. I got the Toshiba drivers to work but it's going to run out in 30 days. I'd happily buy the Toshiba hardware but they don't sell it in the country I'm in, it's all generic stuff with no name on. Any solutions would be welcome, otherwise I'll try the complete uninstall-reinstall after 30 days, see if that works. |
