So first a disclaimer: I know absolutely nothing about bluetooth protocols.
But, I have been googling and grep'ing around the source code for dolphin, and I found something that probably is not, but may be, what's causing the issue. So the Bluetooth "Service Discovery Protocol" (SDP) information on the Wiimote (found here: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Wiimote#SDP_information) says that the Wii will give back the following hex-encoded information: 0x002504 Poking around the IONix.cpp file (/dolphin-emu/source/Core/Core/Src/HW/WiimoteReal/IONix.cpp), I found where the information is compared to the C preprocessor macros: Code: // Identify the wiimote device by its class So, I'm wondering if there was a change in the "Minor Device Class" value for the TR Wiimote. Unfortunately, I won't be able to test this until tomorrow or later. But it sure would be cool if the fix were that easy... 11-29-2011, 02:46 PM
yes, you can see in the log above that the class has changed to 0x508 instead of 0x2504. However, the TR version seems to behave similar to third party wiimotes; there are other problems once dolphin starts trying to talk to the wiimote.

Yep, same deal. I bought a brand new official Wii Remote from Newegg and I literally just got it about 3 hours ago. Here is what I have noticed as I know nothing of BT Protocols (not my field of expertise):
1) When I try to connect it through Toshiba BT Stack, it recognizes it. 2) When the Toshiba BT Stack attempts to finalize the registration process, the flashing lights on the Wii Remote stop flashing. 3) Appears that the Wii Remote interrupts the connection My BT dongle does work (AZIO v. 201) as I have used it before to connect to my old wii remote that just died. Please tell me that someone can solve this as I want to play Skyward Sword! lol 11-30-2011, 06:34 AM
I finally got it to work by hacking society and exchanging this new TR Wiimote for a properly working used one at Gamestop + used Wii Motion Plus dongle (got $11 back total as well).
returned the one i got on amazon and just bought one at walmart. same thing. tr version and it wont connect.
is this something that will be fixed in the near future? should i just keep the one i have and wait it out or try to find an older model. i broke down and bought the new zelda and really wanted to play it on my pc in 1080 instead on my aging wii. ugh. I searched all stores nearby and no one seems to have the old ones that work with Doplhin
I now bought one RVL-036 (RVL-018A / RVL-022), I dind't open it yet so I can easily return it...wanted to check with you guys if this may be a version that still works 12-01-2011, 09:03 AM

I'd be more than glad to help with the debugging, but your link seems to have died... (and had no fairy to come back up) 12-01-2011, 10:23 AM
