If you are not familiar with programming, it would be a looooooooooong post to walk you through it. Just download the modified version xoppa built and extract/replace the files in your Dolphin installation directory.

1. Download the toshiba stack here:
http://www.sitecom.com/download/4791/toshiba_8.htm
(might have to click it a few times to get it to work)

2. Get your bluetooth dongle's hardware ID and then uninstall it. Go to control panel, device manager, and click on bluetooth radios. Right click the listed device (ignore the enumerator one), click properties, go to the details tab, and select Hardware ID. It should list something like
USB\VID_0A5C&PID_2148&REV_0818
USB\VID_0A5C&PID_2148
The second number is what you want. Copy that down in notepad.
Now uninstall the device. Then go back to Control Panel, go to Programs and Features, and look for any bluetooth software there and uninstall it.

3. Unplug your bluetooth device.

4. Now extract the zip you downloaded and run setup. Once you get the message to plug in your bluetooth device, open windows explorer and go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Toshiba\Bluetooth Toshiba Stack\Drivers\tosrfusb\
Do not close the installer, just leave it where it is.

5. Copy tosfrusb.inf (or the one described as "system information") into a different folder. You can't edit it directly where it is. Then open the copied one in notepad and add your hardware ID to it. You'll see two lists that start with "%TosrfUsb.DeviceDesc1%=TosrfUsb_Device". The % number increases depending on how many are on the list, ending at 149. They have device IDs next to them. Add your device Id to the bottom of each one, like so:
%TosrfUsb.DeviceDesc150%=TosrfUsb_Device, USB\VID_0A5C&PID_2148
At the very bottom of the file is a place for the device description. Name it whatever you want, though preferrably the actual name of the device. Example:
TosrfUsb.DeviceDesc150 = "IOGEAR USB 2.1 Bluetooth Micro Adapter (GBU421)"

6. Save changes, then copy the modified tosfrusb.inf back into the original folder. Then plug in your bluetooth device and finally click ok on the installer message. Everything should install as planned and then you will be asked to restart. Do so and everything will be successfully installed.

I did exactly as above but when I get to step 6 and plug my bluetooth device back in it, the installer keeps prompting me to insert it (as if it doesn't recognize it, also my computer doesn't make the usual "usb device plugged in" sound, it makes a slightly different one). What should I do??

Sorry for the double post, I couldn't find where to edit.

As I said above I followed Sukid's instructions but the Toshiba stack installer won't recognize my bluetooth dongle, no matter where I plug it in, and I forgot to add that it is the ASUS USB-BT211 mini bluetooth v2.1

I have that same exact dongle and it will not work with a Toshiba stack. Its actually an Atheros dongle. I even found a set of stack drivers that even had the correct Hardware ID and it still wouldnt work. I'm lost on this one to......

No way... ahhh I really don't want to return mine because I got it though Amazon and would have to pay return shipping... is there really no fix for this?

Hmm so I'm at a dilemma here, its either wait until a good new fix is released for the -TR remotes (one that doesn't require all this run-around or the toshiba stack which doesn't recognize my dongle) and just play other Wii games, or just buy a used Wii, softmod it, and burn discs... ahhhh dilemmas! Because I and my brother combined for Christmas got 3 -TR (wiimotionplus built in, 2 Nykos and one Nintendo brand because my aunt bought him the Nint one without knowing we already got the Nyko ones)... I can return one of the remotes, but I opened the other one so I dunno if I can return it. Also I got my bluetooth dongle, ASUS BT211 for Christmas from Amazon and I can't easily return it. Dilemmas, dilemmas everywhere!

Do you think it would be best to just wait for a new release for compatibility with the -TR remotes? But I guess then its a question of can my computer even run Skyward Sword... (Intel i7 2.70GHz, 6GB RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce 540M, I can run Skyrim on med-high graphics with very few performance hitches)
I just thought about maybe trying to return both Nyko motes and getting the old WiiMotion+ accessory on ebay? Dolphin works with the accessory attached to an old wiimote, right?

I have that Atheros/Asus dongle and it works. You need to have the drivers it came with installed or it wont install the toshiba driver. Its really finiky about when it will work too. It worked perfectly last night but I came home tonight and it refused to connect so I had to reinstall the entire shebang.

I'm not so sure it is the responsibility of the Dolphin devs to fix anything in your situation. Based on everyone elses experience in this thread, only the Toshiba stack seems to work properly communicating with the Wii motes. The Dolphin code change is really only adding updated VIDs, PIDs, & device descriptions so that it can query the list of connected bluetooth devices and identify which may be Wii motes. If the remote can not successfully connect with the bluetooth stack, I wouldn't hold out much hope that updates to Dolphin will change it. I admit I could be wrong, but even if there were some updates that could be made, having someone find the time to address one particular bluetooth dongle probably isn't too likely to occur unless the dongle is in use by a lot of people, and a dev has it available to work with.

The good news is that someone else reported that they were able to get the Toshiba stack working with your dongle, so there is some hope left :-)

Oh, I wasn't meaning to sound like I am putting responsibility on the devs, its just that I am new to this program so I don't know exactly how releases are done and what they entail and all that whatnot. The only emu I've ever used was Project64 so I don't really have much knowledge when it comes to emus (Proj64 is pretty simple, IMO) I guess I just got too worried about all the wiimotes I ended up with haha. I was actually playing Mario Galaxy 5 minutes ago with no issues at all (I'm just itching to get my hands on Zelda though Smile )

Shallow: I'll give that a try and post results, thanks!

Okay, confirming Shallow's post.

If you have an Asus/Atheros dongle, don't uninstall the software/drivers it came with, leave them. The Toshiba stack should install just fine with no hitches.

Now another problem has arisen..., when I attempt to follow these instructions:
Quote:Make sure you follow the instructions exactly as written.

0) Make sure Dolphin is not running.
1) Right-click on the remote in the Toshiba bluetooth manger and select connect
2) A dialog box pops up, don't click on the button yet
3) press 1+2 on the wii mote and release. The LED's should start flashing
4) As soon as they are done flashing, click OK in the dialog box (this has to be done right after they stop flashing)
5) The toshiba bluetooth manager should show the device as connected.
6) Start Dolphin (make sure you have xoppas build or rebuild yourself with instructions in this post or the associated bug post). When you click on the Wiimote button, that controller should rumble and should already be paired. You shouldn't have to click on pair or refresh (at least I don't...).

My Nyko -TR wiimote connects with Toshiba stack and shows up on the bluetooth manager. When I attempt to follow the steps above it doesn't recognize when I press the 1+2 and release and then press OK when they stop flashing, it gives me this message:

Waiting for the connection from the remote HID device. If the device has been reset, check that it is working, then try to connect it again.

I also tried following xoppa's instructions:

Quote:To use the TR remote follow these instructions:
1. Click to pair a new device, follow the instructions and press the 1 and 2 button on the TR remote enter discovery mode. The remote should now be listed as paired device.
2. Right click the TR and select connect, a dialog pops up.
3. Press the A button on the remote and click OK on the dialog.
4. The remote should be connected now, but no leds. Check this by pressing the A button, no leds should blink. If leds start to blink restart from 2.
5. Open Dolphin (first close if it was still open), make sure it has the code changes stated above, hit the Wiimote button and press refresh.
6. One led on the TR should light up indicating it's number and the TR rumbles. If not hit refresh again or restart from 2.
The TR should now be fully functional.

It gives the same error message in Toshiba stack. When I don't follow those instructions and just connect it then try xoppa's Dolphin build (x64) it gives the whole "only Microsoft bluetooth stack supported"

Any ideas? I'm getting closer and closer...

EDIT
Okay so I did some more reading in the Zelda: SS thread about controllers and it seems like the NYKO Wand+ remotes (the ones I have) don't even work in SS. They apparently connect with Dolphin but don't work in-game. So I will be testing this hopefully soon with an official Nintendo TR remote (its the one my brother has so that will be whenever I see him next... darnit)

Okay so I did some more reading in the Zelda: SS thread about controllers and it seems like the NYKO Wand+ remotes (the ones I have) don't even work in SS. They apparently connect with Dolphin but don't work in-game. So I will be testing this hopefully soon with an official Nintendo TR remote (its the one my brother has so that will be whenever I see him next... darnit)

Ahh... didn't release you were trying different hardware other than an official Nintendo Wii mote. From what I've read on this forum, the third party remotes don't seem to be working too well and I don't think anyone has had too much success with them. I would try to get your hands on a real Nintendo Wii mote and you should be successful. Best of luck!

To fix this, you need to modify the code for Dolphin and recompile it. The code changes are outlined in this thread: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=5011

I can't find it. Dolphin says allways: A supported bluetooth device was not found! (Only the Microsoft bluetooth stack is supported.)

Can anybody explain how I can make it useable for my Bluetooth device? Please Help!

I can confirm xoppa's modified code and Installation of The Toshiba Bluetooth Stack WORKS with the Wiimote Plus (TR suffix) on my comp running XP !!! I am using a Logitech Bluetooth dongle which would previously connect with the wiimote but it would not be recognised in Dolphin (using the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack).Xoppa's instructions are spread across a few posts in the code forum so I thought it might save people a lot of time and head scratchin if I consolidated it into one post.

These instructions and files are for 32 bit machines ONLY ! If you are running 64bit you'll need Xoppa's 64bit code mod for Dolphin.....

Files required:

Xoppa's Code Mod for Dolphin -
http://www.xoppa.com/download/dolphin-tr-x86.zip

The Toshiba Bluetooth Stack Drivers - http://www.sitecom.com/download/4791/toshiba_8.htm

First off download Xoppa's code mod and extract it. Copy the files into your existing Dolphin
folder overwriting the existing files.....
Next, download and extract the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack. Run "Setup.exe" from the x32 folder to install.... insert your Bluetooth dongle if asked to do so......Restart computer when asked..... remove your dongle before PC reboots.

Once your PC is started you can insert your dongle....

To use the TR Wiimote follow these instructions:

1. Right Click the bluetooth icon in the system tray and choose "Add new connection", press the 1 and 2 buttons together on the Wiimote when the "searching" window appears. If the Wiimote is not detected, select "Express Mode" in the next window and click next, quickly pressing 1 and 2 together on the wiimote. The wiimote should now be listed as "Nintendo RVL-CNT-01-TR".

2. Right click the "Nintendo RVL-CNT-01-TR" icon in the bluetooth settings window and select "connect"............. a dialog pops up.

3. Press the A button on the wiimote then click OK on the dialog.

4. The wiimote should be connected now, but no LEDs. Check this by pressing the A button, no LEDs should blink. If LEDs start to blink restart from 2.

5. Open Dolphin, (make sure you have copied Xoppa's modded files into its directory as described earlier), click on the "Wiimote" Icon in Dolphin and press refresh......

6. One LED on the wiimote should light up indicating it's number and the wiimote rumbles. If not hit refresh again or restart from 2.

The TR Wiimote should now be fully functional.

Many thanks to Xoppa for his hard work.... this has had my head done in for two days !!! My wiimote TR now works perfectly in Dolphin, but maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones?? ..... I've only tested it with New Super Mario Bros so far but I'm sure Xoppa has cracked this one for us ! I'm using the latest build of Dolphin as well FYI.
