I knew it wasnt going to be long untill i ran into a problem.
I started out buliding a computer from scraps and it runs games ok, i even managed to find a working dvd-rom to rip my games for $8 at a local computer shop but now i cant get any wii remotes to work.
I'm running 3.0-873-dirty x64 in windows vista 64bit (fully updated) with 4 gigs of ram, a Athlon x2 240 at 2.8Ghz, onboard video (for now) 320gb hard drive and all that other fun stuff Its a shuttle XPC bare bones system i found dumpster diving and its working just fine, didnt have a hard drive with it but everything else is ok. It runs the games suprisingly well at native res and thats good enough for the time being because its more for epic fortune street battles than running high rez wii games, but i want to use real wii remotes. I only need one to work for fortune street for now
I have several bluetooth adaptors and tried them all and i can get it to sync with my Anycom USB 500 using Microsoft bluetooth stack and the generic rounded mini adaptor, the one you can get at deal exteme for $1.80, using both microsoft bluetooth stack and toshiba bluetooth stack. so the computer is seeing them and says the connections are in use how ever dolphin wont work with them and tells me when i use the toshiba bluetooth stack that only MS stack is supported. i've tried various methods, syncing up while dolphin is on while its off, i cant get any response at all out of both stacks with both adaptors and both RVL-003 and RVL-036 wiimotes.
they work fine on my launch wii console of course.
the goal is to eventualy use a wii remote as a mouse and i ordered a tiny usb keyboard about the size of a cell phone from deal extreme for $10 to use on the computer while its hooked up to my tv in the living room. I dont want to spend hours in the computer room looking at a 24" screen when my friends and my self are trying out $100k+ fortune street battles.
once i can get the wii remotes to work i will update the computer with a dedicated card but if i cant get these wiimotes to work i'll have to torture my launch system and thats what i am trying to avoid.
