Hello! So I recently started streaming on twitch, mostly playing Smash Netplay on Dolphin. Unfortunately, I have to unplug my webcam everytime I start up dolphin, and plug it in once the emulation has begun. This makes it very inconvenient to stream, and even messes up my xsplit when I plug the webcam back in. I understand that if you keep the webcam in while loading Dolphin, it will recognize it as a controller with thousands of buttons, hence crashing the program. Is there any way I can disable the usb port that my webcam is in for that specific program? If not, is there any other solution? If it helps, I am running Dolphin 4.0-648.

This bug has been fixed in current master builds of Dolphin, but unfortunately these dc-netplay builds haven't been rebased in a while. I'll ping comex about it, it's his branch.

...He really needs to put more effort into it and get it merged in – whether he likes it or not, the whole damn Smash Bros. netplay community uses it, so it ought to either be fixed up or properly replaced before it's too obsolete.

Do you think you could ask him to merge in the md5 checker too? That would be extremely helpful.

That's what rebasing on master would entail – every little fix that's been pushed to master since the branch was last rebased will be part of the branch after rebase. Put another way, rebasing is just taking all *his* changes and reapplying them on a much fresher copy of master.

If it's going to be rebased wouldn't it be worth it to just wait until the next stable release comes out?

AFAIK, it doesn't really take that much effort to rebase it unless there've been that many netplay/timing-related changes. I could be overestimating how much comex cares, though – maybe he just doesn't want to wrap his brain around any of that code anymore.

Well we just got Netplay shoutouts on VGBC multiple times with 6k viewers and my smashboards Netplay guide has 48k+ views, so it's still relevant. Tongue

Hmm...so, it looks like I'll just have to wait for a new netplay release, huh? Is that something that you think Comex would do in anytime soon? If not, are there any other stable builds of Dolphin that run Netplay that wouldn't have this bug? I could possibly just have my friends who I play with most often get that build, and then use my current build when I play on ladder.
