I'd like to know if I can play the most demanding wii games like Xenoblades, Last Story at 720p with this

Specs:

- i5 2430M - 2.4Ghz with Turbo Boost up to 3.0 Ghz
- Nvidia GT 540M - 2GB
- RAM 4 GB

The games will run above 50FPS most of the time?

Yes as long as the laptop doesn't overheat after 10min and CPU clock speed must turbo to 2.7Ghz when running dolphin

Not a chance . Last Story need EFB to Ram . Only i5 2500k 4.5Ghz could run it full speed

Nope
Pal - EU : 25FPS max or 50FPS max
NTSC - US or Jap : 30FPS max or 60FPS max

Xenoblade and Last Story are 25 or 30 FPS max unlike SMG,Muramasa the Demon Blade are 50 or 60FPS max

Anyone has tried a notebook cooler for this kind of problem?

Last Story should work fine at 480p?

But I'll probably play on Wii...

Notebook cooler isn't needed.
Just make sure, that your cpu cooling plan is "active" not "passive". (if you're using Win7)
