Installing the channel simply lets you start it from the system menu, it has no affect on the functionality. Riivolution runs exactly the same whether launched from there, HBC or any other exploit.

Quote:...is that a typo? That doesn't even make sense. If you meant "it does not require AHBPROT to be enabled", then I did not know that! For years now I was under the impression that Riivolution worked its magic via AHBPROT.
Do your research. AHBPROT is enabled by default, it protects various devices on the AHB bus from being accessed. Disabling it removes the protection and grants access to those devices from the PowerPC. Riivolution accomplishes this by itself, it does not require HBC to do it beforehand.

Quote:Then clearly I'm using incorrect emulation settings or Riivolution just flat-out doesn't work in Dolphin.
Yes, I've already pointed out the latter is true (possibly the former also, who knows).

Quote:Because I wanted get the Homebrew channel running in general so that I could use it for other homebrew as well, such as Wii64 (which contains a function in the XML to auto-launch a game when loaded via the HBC). But since the HBC won't work I decided to focus in on a specific app, and I chose Riivolution.
This statement is a flat out lie. You opened saying you wanted to use HBC so that apps relying on AHBPROT would work - something which does not apply to command line arguments nor Riivolution.

Implying that I can't do multiple things in Dolphin within the same day? I was interested in doing things with Dolphin that day, so I did a bunch of stuff; for example I fiddled with the internet connection that kind of works since Dolphin 4.0, I fiddled with seeing just what happens if you format a Wii, I played Smash Bros. Brawl a bit, etc.
No, implying that out of the blue you decided to accuse the HBC devs of having some malicious agenda and since I worked on a tiny piece of code that has nothing to do with HBC itself, I must also be involved in it. Irrelevant to the topic, libellous and only mentioned when I started to point out the inconsistencies in your story.

Quote:Like I said, I choose to focus specifically on Riivolution once it was made clear that the HBC wasn't going to work. There are a lot of mods on here that I'm interested in and I (still) want to try:

I'm particularly interested in this one due to its custom music, but the download link has been disabled:

All of the NSMB mods (besides Another and Newer) are simple file replacements. For the advanced mods there are scripts available to perform ISO patching. You would have easily found them if that was what you were actually looking for.

I'm not going to bother with this thread anymore, this is meant to be a support forum for people trying to get help; OP has misrepresented his intentions, insists on pursuing ideas that will not work (with the current codebase) and has waited until page 3 to actually state what his desired goal is.
