Except that, in order to install the Riivolution channel, you must first successfully launch the Riivolution app...

...is that a typo? That doesn't even make sense. If you meant "it does not require AHBPROT to be enabled", then I did not know that! For years now I was under the impression that Riivolution needed AHBPROT. Clearly I'm either using incorrect Dolphin settings or Riivolution just flat-out doesn't work in Dolphin.

Because I wanted get the Homebrew channel running in general so that I could use it for other homebrew as well, such as Not64 (which support AHBPROT), and it would have been pretty long and complicated to explain why I would ever want to run an N64 emulator through the HBC inside of a Wii/GC emulator. But since the HBC won't work I decided to focus in on a specific app that wouldn't require lengthy explanation on why I'd ever want to run it in Dolphin, and I chose Riivolution.

Yes, and like I already said, me fiddling with Devolution led to me fiddling with other homebrew as well. Guess what? I tried Gecko OS as well and I never mentioned it. Why? Because I didn't feel that there wasn't any reason to!

Implying that I can't do multiple things in Dolphin within the same day? I was interested in doing things with Dolphin that day, so I did a bunch of stuff; for example I tried (unsuccessfully) to load my own Wii's NAND dump, I fiddled with the internet connection that kind of works since Dolphin 4.0, I wanted to see just what happens if you format a Wii (turns out it kind of messes up some of Dolphin's settings), I played Smash Bros. Brawl a bit, etc.

Like I said, I choose to focus specifically on Riivolution once it was made clear that the HBC wasn't going to work. There are quite a few interesting mods on here that I want to (still) look at, and it'd be much quicker/easier to quickly sample a variety of mods on my PC than on my Wii:

I'm particularly interested in this one due to its custom music, but the download link has been disabled:
