"now, do you have any way to get a cheep controller to eliminate a handful of possibilities?"
I have this one on the way: http://www.amazon.com/PS2-USB-Dual-Controller-Adapter-Converter/dp/B000F6BGXY
PS2 controllers are the only controllers I know that the face buttons or the dpad don't stick over time. Logitech's do it in like 2 weeks for me and I don't like xbox controllers.

"oh and BTW: I only see talk of x86 above, did you make any typos? Just want to make sure the info is clear up there. Am I correct in assuming x64 = broken for everything?"
Yes, broken for me as in constant, ramp, etc. doesn't show in the box.

"At the current do you get options in 86 but not in 64? If nothing shows that means the driver didnt report any FFB options."
Correct, I get options in x86 and not x64 when choosing dinput for the controller only.

"I'm not trying to one up you on searching the net by any means here but did you see this?"
No, trying it out now.

EDIT: The link was invalid. 404 error.

You mean the driver link right, not the forum link? I can't test download links from this computer.

LOL [ just saw the image ] , that piece of crap, I have that one at home, ill test it out tonight and see what happens. I think I still have the drive it came with.

that adapter is one of the china finest. The company is no longer in business but lots of places sell it still. I think they sold the source off. Anyways they are all the same. The only reason you need the driver is for rumble. If you get anxious look here
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CDIQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ddrgame.com%2Fps2-accessory-dual-usb-adapter.html&ei=1wjnUNuaMI2Q8wTHqIH4AQ&usg=AFQjCNF-nheuKTT1igEIwD5p1qv6Y-8FRw
They actually have a win7 download. I download it on a work system here and scanned with no issues. They call it a tiger something but its the same adapter. Do a system backup first If you are skeptical so you can restore without issues.

I bought it 2 days ago Sad

But I did try the driver and it didn't recognize the converter even when I pointed it in the direction to it in administrator mode.
What's wrong with it btw? What should I have gotten?

EDIT: tried force installing the driver and got a bsod.

Well, ok take it from a hardware developer. The adapter you have is made from a press, it literally presses the LAN patterns on to the board. The parts are of the cheapest type possible and its a driver based device. So what does that mean? Well one) durability will suck, two) compatibility will suck ) and three) there is a strong case it will hurt your usb port or controller if any of those components go.

Drivers. Driver stink, if you can do with out then do it!. They are specific and troublesome. That adapter is a HID complaint device. In short a HID is a driver-less device that mac, windows, linux, and ps3 support. Though in this case they write a special driver for rumble. So really you are using a HID/driver hybrid. And all for no good reason because the HID supports rumble! LOL. They wrote the driver because using the FFB from a HID device is not ease at all, trust me I did it. Now here is the real kicker. You could have bought an adapter for $5 less that does the following.

Supports all buttons ( as does the one you have ).
Support rumble with no drivers
As an active developer you can actually email and talk to.
Supports any two pressure buttons simultaneously. and can be configure for any other two buttons.
Support cable pulled out detection.
Has the largest list of compatibility for the playstation controllers.

Oh and for another $10 you can add any other controller port you like ( i.e a game cube port )

The only advantage is the dual psx support that you wont find elsewhere at that price.

At least to me it sounds like a better deal? Now compared to $4 no... maybe not. but why pay more for less eh? For more info see my sig.

What about the ps2 multitap? will I be able to plug that in and it actually work for all controllers when using a converter from your site? for example, if I get one ps2 port on there, can I use the multitap to advance it to 4 ports and still have all the features? currently, it doesn't read past the 1st controller. on any emulator (haven't tried pcsx2).

Also, would you be able use a real gba with games that can use it like ff crystal chronicles or 4 swords?

No you wont find any adapter out there that use the psx multi tap. At least not yet, that I know of.

If I get a gamecube port, will it have real gba functionality with dolphin? With FF Crystal Cronicles, you can use the gba as a controller. Along with this, you can view maps and item locations on the gba screen that you normally can't see on the gamecube alone. Basically, can I use a real gba for dolphin and not just the vba-m emulator?

Also, just to confirm, with 4 ps2 sockets, I can be able to play 4 players on a gamecube game from 1 usb slot with the ps2 controllers?

No way, that is cool. Well I cant say for sure, my guess would be yes. How do you plug the GBA in to the plug, some sort of cable add on?

As I mentioned this is not an ideal situation for multi player needs. This is a single player device. So no, it will not work like that dual player you were looking at.
