I recently bought a Rock Candy PS3 wired controller to play on Dolphin. I have it plugged into my Mac and I used USB Overdrive to map the keys. I can use my controller almost everywhere BUT on the Dolphin emulator with games. I have tried setting the device to "Keyboard/0/Apple Internal Keyboard" and tried with the other device settings in the GCPad Configuration (including the "Input/0/Rock Candy Gamepad for PS3"), but it won't work. In Dolphin configuration the device settings for Port 1 is "Standard Controller," Slot A is "Memory Card," and Slot B is "USBGecko."

Don't bother using USB Overdrive to configure it. Select the "Input/0/Rock Candy Gamepad" input, then configure all the keys.
Also make sure to set up the emulated Wii Remote controls if you're playing any Wii games – most Wii games don't use the GameCube 'pad as their main input source. (You'd be amazed at how many people forget this obvious fact.)
