Well its weird, but the latest reversion, not sure of the link to thelist, makes melee run slower. I mean, it already runs at only 40 frames on maps that are not big blue. Any fix? I always use the dx9 plug in for the gfx. Currently using the regular 2.0 from the dolphin site.

I ask because sometimes dolphin.exe stops responding and does not show me any error. So if I can fix the frame problem on the reversion, maybe it won't crash?

Specs:
Athlon II x4 620
radeon 4850
2gb ddr2
500w modxstream psu

My specs are more than enough since most games run max. Its just melee.

Download latest build you can get, unpack it;
go to your old dolphin folder and place user/wii/title, user/wii/title/sd.raw,
screenshots (if you have them), gc folder and config folder to new unpacked revision...
then search for power defragmenter gui and defragment you games folder and dolphin folder.
Certain this will help...
(oh, and if you use directx9 or opengl set efb to texture)

I do not understand how any of this will help? efb is already set to texture. I only play GC games. Anyway, The latest "reversion" runs games slower than the regular on the dolphin site, but only melee is noticeable. My entierpc was just defraged 2 days ago. This sounds like useless stuff to do.

it is usless. except for revision update. there have been many updates. so download newest rev.

Checkout my latest project ( it is a program that downloads and compiles dolphin on mac and linux now): http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu-downloader (It's unofficial and maintained by me, not the dolphin dev team)

But the latest makes it run worse......I thought I said this.

Ok did some testing and on what i assume is the latest version (r6024) most games run nearly max on dx9 and dx11 plugin. Worse on OpenGL obviously.
EFB = textures
Safe textures = safe (needed for some games, but doesn't slow down others)
res 1024 x 768 (native being 1366 x 768)
Windowed
efb cpu access on
No AA or AF just to be sure it doesn't slow anything down.

Wow, youre right, melee runs slower... Even brawl is faster... 0.0
I run without cpu->efb try disable that...

fountain of dreams 4 players old build 88-92%
with new build 78%...
It's funny xd accuracy for speed, but brawl should run slower than melee...right?

Just tried. It gets higher frames at random and its very jittery without the cpu >efb access. it stll gets like 35 frames on pokefloats which is the stage I love most. It will randomly jump to 48 frames for a second, nd then drop to 20, and then restable around 35. Its worse without cpu>efb. Kind of happy to hear its not just me. But I know my specs are well enough to play any gamecube game.

On another note dolphin.exe crashes sometimes on the latest reversion, so it could just be a random fluke.

yea, sometimes randomly. I could be doing nothing. It likes to crash upon closing an emulation too.
