I have an LCD monitor with a maximum resolution of 1080p. I don't get full speed at that resolution, so I set Dolphin to 720p. However, when I open dolphin, the game plays in a small box in the center of the screen. How to I make the game run at 720p but full screen.

I'm running the game in full screen, but the screen is black except for a smaller box in which the game plays. I haven't had this problem on any other computer before.
The resolution you set shouldn't effect your performance.
The internal resolution, however, will. So make sure you lower that if you experience bad performance. Can you take a screenshot of the problem you're having? What Dolphin version are you using? And what are your specs? 11-26-2011, 02:50 AM

How much does it affect your performance?
What Dolphin version and resolution do you use? But considering your rig... haha :3 11-26-2011, 03:07 AM
If it is an old dolphin version yes resolution will impact on performance as it was internal res. This happens on revs before the internal Resolution setting.
to the OP: That might be a setting in your monitor, it isn't "stretching" lower resolutions that happened to me once. Check in your monitor settings menu.

You should use a newer revision

Quote:The resolution you set shouldn't effect your performance. Although this is true you're forgetting that IR is set to auto by default. And the auto option scales IR with the fullscreen/windowed resolution. Quote:The output resolution affects my performance if i'm using fullscreen, dont know if its cause i'm using an older version or something else Are you setting it manually or did you leave it on auto? @dmeag Please post your revision and settings.
