But the fps won't go more than 17 in RE0 and some 24 in Remake. I have PAL GC versions of the game, newest RC release and tried the settings from the 1st page. My only conclusion is that my rig ain't good enough, so please any reply would be appreciated (whether I'm wrong about the rig or the settings aren't right)
Phenom 9550 x4 2.21ghz, 3gb ram, radeon 4670., win7 32.

Definetely it's your cpu... 2.21 GHz isn't just enough for these games. I would say at least 2.7-3.0 Ghz. With my AMD 2.7 GHz dualcore i get fullspeed in both games. And btw.: dolphin doesn't support quadcores.
So a dualcore with 2x 3.0 GHz is much better for dolphin then a quadcore with 4x 2.2 GHz Wink
Also don't forget to switch to 60hz-mode in the pal-versions (by pressing 2 buttons on the controller at startup, but i can't remember which ones lol). Otherwise the highest framerate you can get in the pal-versions is 25 fps. With the 60hz-mode enabled you will have 30 fps (if your cpu is fast enough of course^^) - much smoother gameplay!

Bummer! Thanks DRLC on your quick response!

Just curious about the RE BGM issues: has anyone tried the GC versions of REmake/RE0 on a recent version of dolphin to see if it works any better than it did? Seems like lots of progress on the lle plugin, and some on hle too, so i figured i'd ask.

I don't hold out much hope tho. Sad

Nope, BGM and some sound effects are still screwed in the HLE plugin. It works in the LLE plugin, but the LLE plugin is slow and has issues with popping and crackling.

@DRLC 1GHz = 1,000 MHz or 1,000,000,000 Hz
Also AMD cores should be quite good at overclocking since most of them are designed to.

But the BGM is still messed up, so don't expect proper music with that fix enabled... (some notes are missing, sounds like an amateur is playing on a piano Big Grin)

as far as I remember that fix is not needed for the pal version as the problem (echoig sound) only occures on the NTSC gamecube version.

I know how much 1 GHz is, so i don't understand what you are trying to tell me Tongue
My X2 7750 Black Edition (which is a phenom 1 with just 2 cores disabled) unfortunately only goes up to 3.0 GHz - anything higher gives me a BSOD Undecided I've even raised the cpu-voltage up to 1.4v - still no success (temps are ok, btw.). I don't know about any other AMD-models...

@zezoman:

Well, i've tried both version of RE Zero for the GameCube, PAL and NTSC. In the NTSC-version i still have BGM-problems with the soundfix enabled (not echoing sounds, it's more of a "crackling" sound). In the PAL-version the sound is "clear", but there are still some notes of the music missing. But it's much better then in the NTSC-version. That's why i prefer the PAL-version Wink Like i said before, the Wii-version of Zero has perfect BGM, but it's way too slow on my pc (around 22 fps) Undecided

I'm asking only about the "RE0 hack" and does it make any difference if it is turned on or off when playing the PAL GC version? As far as I know it doesn't.

I admit I didn't read all 40 pages but I've got one question. Dolphin project is under development. It's getting better and better in most aspects. So why is that Resident Evil (GC) and Resident Evil Zero (GC) work so slow in the newest revisions? ~3000 revisions play it nicer than the newest but those have a lot of other bugs (StateSaves - 90% chance of getting a crash and application closes for example and StateSaves are very important because RE games on GC crash a lot on ~3000 randomly despite the fact videos are better etc.).

What is the problem that somehow newer revisions can't handle RE and RE0?
