i sorry i was not paying attention you are using mac os ?you should check your cpu with cpu-z see if your hardware and your operating system if you run win7 or windows try my settings but my phenom runs at 3200 mhz so at this frequency i achieve from 26-30 fps IN GAME in cut scenes 60 fps...

thanks for the reply. yes i am Mac OSX 10.6.5

luckily i have wine so i tried that CPU-Z. you said this..

see if my hardware and OS what? sorry but it sounds like a sentence fragment so im not sure what you meant by that part.

my processor is an Intel Xeon (Intel Core i7 W3520 @ 2.67GHz)
or in other words my core speed is 2660 MHz.
its a 4 core with 8 threads
I have 8GB of RAM

i would think it would a powerful enough CPU to handle RE0, as I run rather large projects in very heavy audio processing programs like Pro Tools, which relies solely on my CPU to run smooth.

my graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 (512 Mb of VRAM)

so it appears as if I have a slightly slower processor than you do if i am correct? meaning i just wont be getting the ideal 26-30 FPS in game then?

thanks for the help and feedback truti!

hey no problem i meant to say if it supports or it has "sse2 instruction set" but i think you can only emulate in open gl am i right because wine might work might not emulate so well the dolphin direct 9 plugin so as you can see in my specs i am running dolphin on windows 7 witch has dx11 as well as every other dx support after installing one latest Microsoft visual c++ drivers so i am playng zero on 6511 on "dolphin direct 3d9" with audio throttle ON and enable EFB to texture open cl ON and load high resolution texture ON everything else is default ohh and EFB scale is set to integral(recommended) but this on win 7 and my cpu phenom 955 with MMX+,3dnow+,SSE 1,2,3,4A amd-v,etc set of instructions in my cpu,i think dolphin uses all of them but especially SSE2 not sure why....did you try to oc your cpu to 3.0 ,3.2 corei7 is fast but it has issues with their threads many games chose one core to work with ...and so 2.6 ghz should be enough but maybe not try my settings if not search here or google for dolphin re zero good emulation maybe there is some specific revision of dolphin that works better with open gl though mine works well enough under win7 in open gl mode and directx11 in open gl i received some crashes so i stop using it ...i see your vga has openg gl 3.0 and mine has 3.2 that i know the newer the open gl in vga card the better and your cpu in multicore test is better than mine but i have no idea ...i says here that turbo core only goes up to 2.9ghz and instructions intel reports only sse4.2 http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=39718 i mean sorry but we live in to different worlds you intel/nvidia witch i have no idea how those work and me amd/ati since 1993 ...never had intel never had nvidia and never even see macosx ...sorry try my settings if not maybe there is someone who can help you ..to bad because RE Zero really is a nice game to play in good frames off course Smile good luck

i got r6515 since that is the oldest build in this thread http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=13496

since im on Mac, and im not really savvy enough to make my own builds i get them from there instead. WINE doesn't seem to run Dolphin well, or even at all on my Mac so using that as an option isnt an option.

i did get about 4 or 5 FPS faster with a faster run speed, like 71%, as opposed to 58-61%. so i did get a speed up from using an older revision, but its still at 21 FPS at best which make it rather slow to play enjoyably. my guess it has something to do with me being on a Mac and using OpenGL because almost every thread i found, including this one suggests using DX9 or better and what not.

i have no idea how to overclock my CPU, and im not totally sure if i should even try since i know it can ruin things permanently. and from what i know about Macs, its almost impossible to do it correctly/safely due to how Mac does things. its not as easy as it is in the PC world as I understand.

thanks for the help, but im continually stumped about this. especially since i run games like RE Darkside and Umbrella Chronicles at full speed almost the whole time but RE0 is so slow.

if any Mac user is out that can add to this id appreciate the advice. Smile

well i gues it is the macosx or open gl plugin .anyway in the latest builds even on direct 3d9 runs slow resident evil zero so....anyway 21 fps is very unplayable sorry it is really a fun game...

It is possible to play RE: Code Veronica X, without error in the graphics (I mean without using Bleach Versus Crusade).
The way I get more playable, is disabling EFB.

Ya I see RE 0 is freakin slow but Re remake on 6624 is awesome. I had to go back to 6515 to play RE 0. I can only get about 20 to 25 fps when nothing is going on screen with my 4.0GHZ dual core.

Settings for 6624 - RE Remake

D39
Vsync
Scale 3X
Copy Enable Ram
Res. 1280x720
Core I72600k 3.4GHZ OCed to 4.0 GHZ
Zotac Geforce GTX670
4 GB Ram

I recently finished remake and zero using r6500 using the config suggested in the wiki page and only had some small sound issues here and there.

Oh and full speed at all times with system in sig (it's overclocked to 3,2 ghz though)

I can also confirm that re 0 is really slow with the latest revs

If you want better speed (for any game) I suggest using r6553 because:
- releases from 6554 till 6571 suffer from the new Fifo changes
- releases after 6571 have Fifo fixed but it causes the huge slowdowns everybody gets with all new revisions

So until this performance loss is fixed (marcosvitaly promised to improve fifo performance soon) I suggest using r6553.
And for Code Veronica you don't need any hacks (Bleach Versus Crusade or other), just disable Copy to EFB. The only problem I see with this game is the missing sound in some areas (like many other GC games, Wii games have much better sound in general), but haven't played it much recently so you might want to report other issues too Smile

all new builds tested on my hardware are running slow despite the fact that maybe those with intel cpu`s may have gained some performance but on my cpu or vga card no improvement of performance same fps in resident evil zero gc or zero on wii even mario galaxy`s fps are the same as in 6511 revision..and some sound issues appeared on the new revisions ..
