Pop open the main dolphin window and go to Emulation -> Change Disc or something like that. that did not work for me on linux, it always told me it was the wrong disk... guess it didnt actually load the new disc, but used the one started with... a sometimes buggy workaround is to save the emulator-state [shift+f1] when it asks you to change disk, terminate the game and start it with the second disc, then restore the state [f1] and then try to change the disc again, it wont load a new one, but will use the second disk you started with... i call it buggy, because sometimes saving and restoring state ends up in never-ending video loops when entering rooms. so save the state more than one time (f1,f2,f3...) this worked for me without using an older revision... also i have background music, it is sometimes a little bit odd, echoes in videos, and i still only have 26 frames in game and 60 with the doors but thats playable to me... only thing that disturbs me is, that in cut-scenes the voice is out of sync, probably because of the low 26 fps... i use dual processor on a 64bit ubuntu, i had to disable hotkeys under display, or it kept crashing - maybe that helps some of you... oh, if not mentioned before that is for re0 on gamecube, i will check out veronica chronicles next week... 08-19-2010, 10:11 PM

Hello! I need a small help regarding RE1.
Everything runs perfectly (in-game) until the first zombie appears. A slow down happens for a second but then it goes on normally. After that, when I am exploring the mansion, regular drops on FPS are very noticeable. This happens periodically, for a while it runs around 30 FPS and then drops for a few seconds to 10-15 FPS, and then 30 FPS again, and so on. It makes the game hard to play, and I don't know why it happens in the first place. Can someone please help me? I would really appreciate since I have no other way to play this game. Thanks. 09-04-2010, 02:02 PM

It seems that the game just runs almost 10-15 FPS slower now, and from what I noticed, there still were slowdowns. Might be something else? Because normally I would blame it on my computer, but i can manage 30 FPS playing in game, and that sudden slowdown seems unnantural since it happens even if I stay without doing anything. EDIT: I found out that this slow down happens after playing for a while, not because of the zombie. I saved the game and then loaded, everything went fine, until a few minutes the slowdown starts. 09-06-2010, 07:36 PM
Is it better to enable JITIL compiler for RE games? Also will it be better to disable hyperthreading?
Hey I was finally able to play Resident Evil Code Veronica decently at 30 FPS and no crashes due to Fifo watermark tightness. Check out the initial post for the detailed config I used. The Dolphin version I used is 6204. And in 6206 the disc changing finally works again so you can easily switch from disc 1 to disc 2 when asked.
The problems I still notice are: - Missing some ingame sounds - The intro video does not play (only sound, no video) Cheers! |
