The thing about EFB->ram/texture, in DX9 to get the character & monster shadows you need EFB->ram. I get ~5-6fps slowdown with EFB->ram on my 3-yr-old laptop but still playable (barely). With a faster computer EFB->ram would be more acceptable.

IMO the sound is the worst issue with this game. Sound is SO important to this game and it's totally f***ed up. HLE, LLE, it doesn't matter, I've tried them both and they're both equally borked. Did anyone file an issue at the dev page on this?

I've had no problem with shadows btw. when using EFB>Texture with D3D9.

There was a period LONG ago where the audio worked thanks to the RE0 fix, but that fix no longer works. And the overall performance of Remake still needs a major increase to be called perfect.

Lol no. I already changed it from EFB to Texture. That's the first thing I do when trying out new builds. And if you think my PC is crap, then please go ahead and tell me what I need to run Remake perfectly in every single area, no matter what the background is. (See current specs in signature below).


Aside from that, I still want to see the audio fixed more than anything else right now, because Remake runs perfect for me with the Intel builds except for audio.

I'm just saying that I get full speed consistently throughout the game, even in the areas you mentioned when using Copy EFB to Texture, I can post screenshots and a video if you'd like. Wink

Now that I saw your specs it seems even more strange.. I have lower specs than you and get full speed with Copy EFB to Texture, you aren't using the LLE plugin are you, because that plugin is quite slow and also causes a substantial framerate drop.

As for shadows, I still seem to get shadows with Copy EFB to Texture. Is that another one of those Chris related issues when playing the game as Chris, I don't seem to have that problem when playing as Jill. Undecided

Hmm I tried both the LLE and HLE in hopes of improving the performance, but it didn't seem to help. Sad

And yeah, I actually haven't played as Chris yet, so I don't know if Nameless Mofo had the shadow problem with Jill too. I never noticed it with Jill's scenario, that's for sure.

Are you using the GC or Wii-Version? What are your actual settings?

Well I managed to run Resident Evil 0 NTSC version at 30FPS on every BG.
Im using D3D9 Plugin with the following options:

Render to Main Window: Checked
Anti-Alias: 4xSSAA
Safe Texture Cache : Disabled
Enable CPU -> EFB Access: Disabled
EFB Scaled Copy: Enabled
Disable Fog: Enabled
Copy EFB to RAM: Enabled
Overlay FPS Counter: Enabled

All other options on D3D9 settings are disabled!

And on General Settings all options are enabled like Dual core, Unlimited Cache, and CPU Emulator Engine im using JitIL Experimental Recompiler!
Didn't expected any GFX glitches by now
Just need a sound fix now >.<

That's what I'm thinking it must be, ATI Firegl v3200. Old, but ran REmake w/ almost perfect gfx at high-20s fps until r4656 introduced an issue with missing zombie arms & other zombie textures.
