Hi, first post,

So I downloaded the latest Dolphin release (4771) and tried newer builds from specific builders, i.e. 4780 by unknownforce: http://unknownforce.selfip.com/

Read through multiple FAQs and the getting started by Omegadox: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-4.html

I re-performed each step just to be sure I had everything. I also read multiple threads on speeding up emulation, and tried multiple settings i.e. AA off, AF off, lower resolution, etc.

Lastly I read this thread for advice.

---------------------------
So my question:
---------------------------

I want to know if anyone is actually running the Nintendo Gamecube or Wii of Resident Evil 1 (remake / rebirth / reborn / Archives) with reasonable success. If so, what hardware are you doing it on/etc.?

I have an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 , dual core, 2.4Ghz, 1066MHz FSB, 4MB L2 cache, supports SSE2 and virtualization. I have 2GB of Corsair DDR2-800, CL4, and an eVGA nVidia 8800GTS superclocked, 640MB, pci-e 16x video card. Also a Creativelabs SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum PCI soundcard. I have almost everything in win7 turned off by default to keep the OS zippy.

I'm running all this on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

--------------

With the above, I can boot the game, run the menu and opening cinematic just fine. But after the door opens in the beginning, I encounter 2-3 big problems:

1) Reasonable slow down, i.e. 15FPS or sometimes 7-9 FPS, though averaging closer to say 17FPS. Not good compared to the 30FPS that should be occurring

2) Sometimes the character models are missing (I can see the rendered backgrounds and shadows, but no characters). This seems to be related to loading a save-state (unconfirmed).

3) Sometimes when I enter a new camera angle, the screen goes black. But I can still move and hear things.

---------------

Otherwise, the game runs fine. Decent audio, decent visuals, my gamepad works fine.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I remember that revisions around r4710 worked pretty good with RE1 Wii with the settings from the first page.

Resident Evil 1 (Rebirth) to GC is not good. The game cutscenes (real time) is varied with fps, or too low or normal, varies greatly when I'm in a place with two or more characters the FPS drops too. I'm using all the settings that gave the topic. I tested the game in SVN 4760IL, 4710IL and 4771IL. On reaching the main hall at the beginning of the game, go up the first ladder and enter the door that is on the table, the map that takes place outside the mansion on this site is unplayable when we see the zombie, the falls for 10 fps! Someone help me set up the game? I have the disc A and B on the PC, NTSC and USA.

Someone can tell me if my problem is in the SVN? Does an older runs normally?

Hm, I just started RE Remake (Wii-version) with r4798 and it seems to run fine. Only a little bit of crackling in fmvs because of the fps being a bit below 30, a bit of a slowdown here and there (actually until now I only had one ingame, in that room where there's this long view into the corridor and stairs leading up)...if that's only in 2, 3 rooms, that's fine for me. Only other issue: when being equipped with the knive, there are some long stretched polygons coming out of it. (maybe that can be avoided by turning off "optimize quantizers"?...I'll try)
Will there me more issues I have to count on? If not, I guess it's time I'll play it through with Dolphin Smile

I get the best results running JITIL with optimize quantizers on. I use DX9 plugin cuz I'm badically forced to (ogl 2.0 only gpu here). However, I'm playing the GC version. The RE0 audio hack fixes the staticky sound in the beginning. The main problem I have with the GC version is sound keeps dropping out, save room music plays but has missing notes (acoustic guitar). With dx9 plugin hopefully your computer is fast enough to run with EFB copy to ram enabled, without it the character shadows don't show up.

in the wii version luckily I only need EFB to Texture for the textures to show right. Also in the wii version the music doesn't cut out Smile

Ah, yeah, that's what I wanted to ask: What exactly is that RE0 audio hack for? Only RE0 or also RE1 or even Umbrella Chr.? And only GC versions or also Wii versions?

I have no clue it doesn't seem to help either GC or Wii Version. Wii version of 0 has excellent audio from what I have played. Turning it on for the GC version still creates skippy audio. Does your performance say 100% when running RE for wii or not?
