Where did the RE0 Audio Hack go in the audio options of the emulator ? In the older versions of Dolphin, Resident Evil Remake didn't have glitchy sound effects. Don't tell me to use an older version of the emulator please. I'm looking for replies specifically about the RE0 Audio Hack option that used to be in the older versions.
Alright, so, I discovered a couple things about this issue I was having. Maybe this thread will help people in the future..

One is that when I unchecked the " Enable Dual Core " option, the sound wasn't glitchy, but of course the game run much slower, so I re-enabled that and tried some other things.

When I changed the" Audio Backend " from DSound to XAudio2, 99% of the sound wasn't glitchy and there's no speed decrease, so it looks like this is my best option.

Scratch that fix because with the Audio Backend set to XAudio2 the game crashes after like 10 minutes consistently.. ugh.. whatta pain in the ass !

So, if anyone can offer any help on why the XAudio2 crashes during this game, let me know.. thanks,,

why did Dolphin go the route to not use plugins ? my problem could've been solved very easily if it still used plugins..........................

It was removed since it was no longer necessary due to improvements made to the LLE backend. The dolphin devs don't like using hacks unless they absolutely have to.

It shouldn't, it's just a backend, and nobody else has that problem. Something else is probably causing the crashes.

And how exactly would dolphin using plugins instead of integrating the backends into the application solve your problem?

Thanks for the reply.. I said what I said about plugins cause it would allow me to use an older audio plugin in Dolphin 3.0, so it would run the game with the speed of the newer release with the sound stability of the older versions of Dolphin.

But the "sound stability" as you call it is superior on the newer backends and the new system is a lot easier for developers to work with. The only disadvantage for you is that it lacks certain hacks, which offer a faster way to resolve certain bugs but also cause new issues to pop up in other games. For that reason the days of hacks are over (mostly).

Dolphin 3.x is amazing. Don't take me the wrong way. I appreciate all the hard work going into this emulator and it really is amazing at this point. Thanks for explaining things and I agree that Dophin 3.x is more stable. It was just crashing when I used Xaudio2 for sound, but I just downloaded ExtremeDude's latest release and it allows me to use Xaudio2 without crashing.
