So, I had a really outdated version of Dolphin (r4525) where all cheats for this game works perfectly, but the game doesn't run like it should. All models (players, zombies etc.) are invisible but you can see the outline of the model.

I updated to a later revision (tried anything between r5000 to the latest) and also the 2.0 release and when enabling a single cheat the game goes black and/or Dolphin just crashes. If I am in the inventory screen, sometimes I get the cheats to work (like, adding a weapon to my inventory) but as soon as I leave inventory screen the emulator crashes.

Cheats work fine in other games in the newer builds that I've tried, but it's just this game where they don't.

Is there something in r4525 and older that was removed or changed in builds newer than that because that's when cheats started crashing the emu?

I figured something out while experimenting with codes. I have gotten the codes to work without crashing the emulator, such as 99 of whatever I have in slot 1. The real code is supposed to be

004E02F6 08000000
021F11DC 00000063

but by removing the above line, making the code only "021F11DC 00000063" not only does the code itself work, but the emulator no longer crashes.

Does anyone here know why the above line is in almost all codes (the address differs, but 004 and the value are usually the same) or what it is supposed to do? In this game for each inventory slot the above code is increased by 1, making it F7 for Slot 2.
