Resident Evil 4 on Ubuntu extremely choppy

I am currently running Ubuntu 10.04 with Dolphin version 7433 (the one from the Dolphin Ubuntu repositories).

Whenever I try to play Resident Evil 4 (NTSC Gamecube version), both the audio and video becomes extremely choppy. The FPS registers at 60, as too does the VPS. However, the main menu seems to load fine. It is only once the actual game starts that the problems begin.

I have dolphin configured to the recommended settings per the Resident Evil thread in the Games section of the forums.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Intel i5 64bit, 4GB of RAM, Nvidia GeForce 310M 512MB using the 195.36.24 proprietary driver.

Let me know if any more info is needed.

my guess is its your GPU thats the bottleneck, as long as your CPU is 2.5GHz (some games need 3GHz or more) or over

you need to use a desktop with a better spec or lower the screen res and lower the graphics settings on Dolphin for your laptop

since i dont have the game myself to test out i can only link you to the RE thread for best settings/revision etc

El problema aveces es la apariencia de ubuntu, usa una apariencia que no tenga tanta cosas como transparencias y cosas así ya que eso pone "lento" el emu en ciertos momentos. A mi me va a 30 fps casi todo el tiempo

Solved it (or at least I think so)! Changing the audio settings from Pulse Audio to ALSA in Dolphin seems to have alleviated the problem for now.

Thank you for all the help!
Gracias por tu ayuda! Lo siento que mi español no es muy bueno.
